First time dining here and it was a great experience. The ambiance was nice and cozy. Great Service that was attentive and timely. The food was very tasty and the drinks were good. It’s a very good spot for a date Will definitely dine here again.

So whenever I travel far to try out a new restaurant I always call ahed to see if they offer halal meat! The manager told me besides chicken the goat & lamb is halal . So that’s a relief So if you are living in the island , and wanna try some good food & spending little extra once in a while is not a problem, give this place a try .

There were two dishes we were not a fan of: pickled mango [too grainy] and the rasmalai [dense]

One of the best restaurants in the city. I love going back here when I come home. Such a nice atmosphere and outstanding staff. Great food.

Very good food, service, portions and prices as well as atmosphere. Even though there were several other groups dining the noise level was low and allowed for good conversation in our group. Also, we were not rushed but get there early and reservations are really recommended especially on Friday as there were several groups waiting when we left at 7:30 pm. We know we’ll be going back very soon!

This is the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to! I’ve been going here for years (before the renovation) and it is absolutely amazing. I moved to NJ and I come back to Staten Island just to come here every few weeks! The food is always amazing, flavorful, fresh, hot. The staff are always friendly and patient. The food is on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for…I would eat here everyday if I could. Absolutely delicious

I went to taste of India with a couple that I know who know I like Indian food. They had been there before. I had not. While the meal I had was very tasty, there was more sauce than chicken. Basically my meal consisted of sauce and rice — with some chicken. In fact, while my friend’s wife got her own small bowl of rice, the waiter put a slightly larger bowl of rice between my friend and I to share!! I asked for a separate bowl of rice for myself and when the bill came., we discovered that we were charged $7.00 for that bowl of rice, which I should have received with my meal anyway. The waiter was good about filling water glasses, but kept coming around with a half empty pitcher, so we were getting half- full glasses! We just looked at each other. In the end, the bill came to over $100 with no appetizers, no dessert and no drinks — of any kind. (We did order nan.)

The food was amazing. The tikka masala was delicious and the vegetable samosa was insane and was a hefty size !!

I brought 7 women who are not adventurous food eaters here to discuss our book of the month, The Henna Artist. I hadn’t been here in over a decade but I always enjoyed the food and the place did not disappoint. Plus it has undergone a nice renovation making the restaurant sleek and pristine with a nice cocktail bar. The waiters were helpful with every selection from cocktails and wine to dessert. And, we ate everything without any complaint because it was outstanding. We shared all appetizers and entrees and even dessert. All traditional cuisine is on the menu and prices were moderate for a long night of fun and deliciously satisfying cuisine. Note – street parking was plentiful for a 6:30pm midweek reservation but New Dorp Lane is a busy street. We loved it so much, we neglected to take pictures. It was great.
