Fresh. We sat at the bar and ordered about 4 rolls, each of which was perfect in their own way. The service was impeccable, the staff was friendly, and the place was very clean. No smell of fish at all when sitting at the bar which speaks volumes of the freshness. Near the end of the meal I asked our waiter if we could possibly ask the chef for a surprise specially (which he graciously agreed). The sushi with the flower is what he presented. So much incredible flavor from this work of art. I will be back again.

The best Japanese restaurant in California. Great quality, very delicious. Waiter Franz made for a perfect dining experience for us! He has high empathy, always there for you even when it is very busy. I have no idea how he is doing that.. you are lucky if he serves you!

Updated 2. I don’t wanna downgrade this place to 3 stars cause it would not be really fair. The reason I got upset on my second visit was one of their signature rolls – ABC roll. Strong fried onion taste. And the roll itself is absolutely tasteless.

Still so good. This location is at the Village at the South end of the shopping center. A few of my go to’s are the miso black cod appetizer, seared albacore with crispy onions and the blue crab hand roll on soy paper. This time I also tried the tempura corn definitely adding this into the rotation, the dipping sauce is like a miso butter sauce which was so tasty.

Fantastic service. I ordered vegetable rolls being vegan, and the cucumber/avocado didn’t taste very fresh- and there were very small servings of each(I’ve had much fresher and larger portions for avocado rolls from many other sushi places). The rice and seaweed was great. Everyone I was with swears by the B.S.C. cut roll.
