Really delicious and probably one of the best places in town. We had both ordered the specials (butterflied trout and bone in veal chop) which were great. I’m impressed how perfectly the chop was cooked. Friendly service and definitely on the repeat visit list!

We recommend this restaurant to all our guests as it’s our place to go for a special evening out. The ambience of the restaurant is elegant but relaxed; the staff are always friendly, knowledgeable of the food being served as well as the beverages that would accompany your dish; the food on the menu is prepared and served with exquisite taste and we always look forward to “the specials” for that evening as they are always tempting for us to try new dishes.

‘Have eaten here 2x before in the past two years and really enjoyed the food but was disappointed this go round. It was a Friday evening and there were plenty of seats available whereas previously the place was packed and that was in a Wed. evening … Not a great sign. We were a party of 3. The atmosphere is very nice not over the top but comfortable and relaxing. The staff was friendly and welcoming as they were in my 2 previous visits … I ordered the artichoke salad as a start which was a special .’ Really did not care for it …there was absolutely nothing special about it … overly salted and very bland. If i were at home cooking I would have ditched the salad and started over with a new attempt. One other member of our party had a special starter which was an heirloom salad w , seriously, hardly any heirloom tomatoes in it. I try to order specials at restaurants as it implies there is an extra effort placed into their creation but did not find this to be the case in this instance. The entres ordered were 2 specials, fish dishes, and one seared tuna entree… I would say the entrees were “ok” maybe a 7.8 out of 10 but just nothing special or memorable … the chocolate cake was very good as was the tiramisu… With tip spent 240 for 3 diners … one martini, 2 coffees and 2 seltzers, 2 starters 3 entrees… Regretably I have to say i will not be returning … I dislike having to say that as the staff is so welcoming and the food on previous visits was very good. I just cant see spending that amount of money for another disappointing meal.

Beacon is the best and cutest little town! So much to do and so many places to eat so we had a hard time deciding. We picked Cafe Amarcord and were not disappointed. The inside was beautiful and fancy but we chose outdoor dining off to the side. Our waiter (I think Ken) was pleasant and felt natural, like he knew his stuff and wasn’t trying too hard.

My partner and I have been here twice and both times experienced great service, food and drinks. What amazes me the most though, is the literal novel the servers memorize about the specials. It’s like a 5 minute speech. Both times my partner and I clapped afterwards because we were so impressed, ha!
