Sorry the food didn’t make it to the photo shoot… it was that good. My wife had the salmon burger, I had the fried chicken, both were super delicious. We cooled down with a Lakou Delight smoothie and we took two chicken patty’s home. Inside is small and quaint, the vibes and music are on point. Prices are fair, and you get a lot of greens which we love. We’re coming back!

I was super disappointed with this place. I ordered the half roasted épis chicken with plantain on the side. The chicken was super DRY! The plantain were not fresh. I tried to eat the food. Nothing was going down my throat. I told the girl in the front that the chicken was dry. I asked her if this was fry chicken or roasted chicken. She said that it was roasted then FRIED! I try to get something else the lady gave me some salted shredded chicken almost soupy consistency. I asked her for some bread to eat with it. She said no.. I had a spiked margarita it was watered down.

Lots of great options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ginger lemonade had a great kick with a plethora of other drinks including coffee, fresh juices, smoothies and recently obtained a liquor license. The host a bunch of really cool events and have a really nice backyard and curb side seating also available.

The whole meal tasted very fresh and earth ; whatever it was that made it taste that way great spin . Was not happy with the taste of the plantains was dry and tasteless . However the meal got me full . It was made in a fashionable time span . The beautiful art decor is what I love most about the spot along with the great customer services . Recommend their salmon platter as well you won’t regret it .

It’s important to me that I celebrate and support Black owned businesses but this could place could use some work. Although, it’s a beautiful up and coming space with great bones and aesthetically pleasing spirit—the food quality is inconsistent and the service is TRASH.

The vegan griot was BOMB! and their scrumptious vegan chocolate cookie tasted like somebody’s grandma famous crispy cookies. In addition, the green smoothie is a must order. Overall, the food was awesome!

I had the Fried Mushroom Sandwich and the Jerk Jackfruit Sandwich both were so good. I also had the Ginger Limeade as well, it was okay too much ginger for me, but I would def. Be back! 🙂

My partner & I were told about this place by one of our friends & one day while hungry, we decided to order from someplace new and remembered we had been recommended Lakou. Since our first order, we’ve went back 3 more times in a short time span. The food is amazing & most importantly, consistent. My favorite is the fried chicken sandwich and the curry chickpea crepe with jackfruit. My partner is super fond of the fried mushroom sandwich if you’re looking for vegan options. The actual inside of the restaurant is quaint as well if you want to sit down and enjoy your meal. Glad to have been told about this place as it is our new go-to.

Needed a place to have a coffee while I had a quick zoom meeting prior to an in-person meeting in Brooklyn, I was drawn to the location as it advertised itself as a Haitian cafe, Black and Women-run small business, focused on building community.

This place is cool because it has vegan options that are hard to find. The food was good, the service was fine, and the vibe was low-key. But don’t come here for authentic Haitian cuisine. It has the flavors, but it’s menu is a mixture of various foods. Good for lunch. Not so much of a dinner spot.
