Piccolo Paese Menu – Liberty, NY

Type : Italian restaurant

Location : Liberty, NY

Founded in 1998 by Baco Vulaj, Executive Chef, Piccolo was brought into a new chapter of life in 2019 when Kirsten and Sims Foster of Foster Supply Hospitality took over ownership & operations of the restaurant with one condition – that Baco stay on as the beloved Executive Chef and still be in the kitchen cooking his classics that bring guests back and back again. With a brand new interior design and a menu that embraced Piccolo’s history while also adding fresh new categories, Piccolo put down new roots for what we hope to be another 20 years of great hospitality and deliciousness. At least.

Upscale Italian restaurant offering house-made pasta, mains, cocktails & a long wine list. Based on 210 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.4 stars. Price $$$

We had dinner here tonight. When we had to wait for tap water we had a feeling things were not going well. Sadly, it got worse. The waiter didn’t share any specials upon ordering but we heard him share with tables around us. Our drinks never came so we

Going in, I knew this place was expensive, but I was shocked to see New York prices in Liberty New York. Pasta puttanesca, a vegan dish with tomatoes, capers, and olives for $26? It was more expensive than a dish with protein, the very delicious chicken Parmesan for $25. At this price point, I would not expect the servers to re-move my used utensils from my appetizer plate and put them back on the table. Take the dirty plates and the dirty utensils and give dinners fresh utensils in a white tablecloth restaurant. The caprese salad, in the middle of summer, should have had the ripest, most glorious tomatoes, not what appeared to be grocery store cellophane-wrapped hot house, tomatoes. That being said, the service was very good, and for the most part so was the food. I just can’t quite get over the pastas, especially without protein being in the high 20s.

Excellent service and decor. Excellent bread. BUT our tiramisu cake was frozen not made fresh. And the carbonara was outright disgusting. Worst carbonara I’ve eaten in my life. The waiter didn’t say anything about the fact that the entire plate of pasta was returned full.

One of the better Italian restaurants in this area. Excellent service. Food is of good quality but grossly overpriced. $27 for pasta with spinach and a few squares of prosciutto. Come on. $18 for a cocktail. No entrees with shrimp. Ridiculous!

I’d say this is the best and find dining that Sullivan County has. Absolutely love the chef and the staff. The entrées are done to perfection as is everything in the restaurant. Atmosphere is elegant and au courant. My favorite go to for an excellent meal, and evening out.

A place with great food. But be prepared to pay for it. The atmosphere is somewhat austere, without much character as it is a converted Howard Johnson.
