Junction is the Pinnacle experience in the “culinary resort” known as Essex Junction. We have been many times now, and while pricey, the food is always excellent and the service is usually good. You will get items here that you will be hard-pressed to even find in other restaurants in surrounding Vermont. Their chef Nicole is top-notch and super friendly. Sit at the chef’s table if you can.

Excellent food and service. Great local VT cheese board, perfectly cooked and prepared pork tenderloin, homemade pasta, fresh vegetables etc. Great cocktails and wine / beer selections. Highly recommend sitting at the chefs table to watch the food being prepared and chat with the Chefs when they have a moment to spare.

Excellent food and quirky decor. Posh hotel located on beautiful grounds. There’s a tavern next door that’s supposed to have superior pub food; looking forward to trying it. In warmer months they have outside seating which I think would be lovely. Overall a tasty, fancy (pricey), place with interesting decor. There are places downtown church that I’d probably go to for upscale dining over this as it’s out of the way for us but if you’re staying or live in the area I think it’s a treat worth trying.

We stayed at the Essex Resort & Spa for our anniversary weekend, and made dinner reservations at Junction as it was promoted to be an interactive restaurant. We had called and asked if it would be possible to move our reservation time up by a half hour, which they were unable to accommodate. We understood, but then were surprised when we arrived and there was only one other table of guests seated in the restaurant. I’m assuming they’re suffering from staffing shortages, but it was a bit strange. Regardless, the menu had some nice choices, and we landed on the tomahawk for 2. The whole night we were anticipating the interactive aspect of this restaurant experience, but that never happened. It was just a typical dining experience, which they did a great job at, but it was just a small letdown when it was advertised as something different, especially considering this was our anniversary dinner and I wanted to make it special. Maybe it usually is more interactive, but because of COVID it’s not? The kitchen was open and you could see the chefs cooking, but unfortunately we weren’t seated close enough to really watch them. We were very happy with the food, hence the 4 stars, and I appreciated that there was a Yelp check-in offer available. It was a nice option to have staying at the Essex, but I think if they hadn’t marketed it as something more than it was, I would’ve been happier with my experience.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Junction restaurant, located within the exquisite Essex resort, and I can confidently say that it was an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment we were seated at the chef’s table, we were treated to a culinary journey that left us in awe.

We had a fantastic experience. They do small seating’s with an open kitchen. When we dined on a Tuesday night their was a single waitress which gave it a very intimate feeling. The food was amazing, the steak with bone marrow butter was outrageous. We will definitely be dining here again!

Junction at The Essex never ceases to amaze me with what they bring to the table (pun intended). The presentation is only surpassed by the flavor, including various local cheeses and meats, in addition to countless other gourmet ingredients.

The staff left the restaurant floor and grill empty to go behind a rear door. We had not been served our main course. The restaurant was clearing out. When the staff returned they advised us that we had not been provided our main course because our appetizer dishes had not been cleared?!?! Were we supposed to clear our dishes? They then advised us that our main course was ready as they threw our steak on the grille? We were over an hour and a half into our dinner. Service was very poor and inattentive. Failed to listen and be attentive past our drinks/salad….. too many good options in VT to settle for poor service.

The overall experience was delicious! We sat at the chef’s table which made it very entertaining to watch as they prepared their food. The chef came over to us and gave us a delicious taster of cured salmon and it was the best part of the meal! Our service was fast, not very informative or personable but maybe due to sitting at the chef’s table and not a regular table. We would come back again!
