The fires were burnt tasted and felt like cardboard. The food was generally bland and unseasoned. I bought the Pene Alla Vodka which was supposed to come with prosciutto but it didn’t come with any. When I asked the waitress about it she said they took it off the menu I was never informed. The vibe of the place was nice but the food was not appetizing at all.

Greeters and wait staff are all very friendly and helpful. The bar and kitchen needs a little help. We received summer sangrias that were nothing more than watered down fruit punch and the chicken Marsala was made with what looked and tasted like canned beef gravy.

Have loved it here for many years. Sadly not at the moment. Staff needs training. Servers repeatedly forgot requested items then one simply dropped them on the table with a “sorry” afte 2 requests and 20 mimute wait. Then when we were nearly done they brought it. Servers not familar with menu items. Soda gun needs cleaning (moldy taste on seltzer). This is not the pre fire Setauket Mario’s we knew and loved. Music was so depressing cut after cut of 70s drab hits weird. Bar and seats were empty on a holiday Friday at 830? That might tell you all you need to know. Please train staff. Fish was good but chicken was tough and over salted. Pound it flat. Twice had to get server when restaurant mostly vacant. Sad to see an old favorite struggle.

Met a few old friends form the area here at the bar. the bartender was great! Made me a special SMOKED OLD FASHION! What a great drink. Highly recommend going in and trying this. The smoke flavor in the drink was great and she told us about using the smoker to smoke cheese or meat. really cool friendly knowledgeable bartender.

Don’t go here. Don’t listen to the locals who think it’s okay. It’s not I’ve been coming here for ages. After the fire it went down hill bad. They left me sitting for 45 minutes waiting for my food that I ordered over the phone. Told me 20 minutes, came in nothing was ready. People come here to get drunk at the bar and order mediocre Italian food. I was just going here for grilled chicken to put with a salad. Oh and not to mention for grilled chicken and broccoli it’s 52 dollars. The girls at the front constantly gossip, and are rude and act like it’s you’re the one being rude when asking when your food will be ready.

We came here with our family After a wake and we had a private room with 13 people, the people treated us with such respect and dignity during a difficult time. Food was excellent and so was the service I recommend this place highly.

We went to Mario’s for pasta night. Great food, wonderful choices and fantastic service at unbelievable prices. However, it was a bad night for rice pudding. It was horrible. The women at the next table also sent ot back.

We had a horrible experience – all of our orders were wrong or incomplete and we had to wait an extra long time for our meals. We had to put in multiple requests for bread, water refills, and to-go boxes. I’m not sure if I caught them on a really bad day, but I’m hesitant to go back.
