2022-07-07 MON update: We were formerly Yakitori Yuchan, a Japanese Izakaya that provided sumiyaki kushiyaki (skewers of meat and vegetables grilled over Japanese binchotan charcoal). Since JUN 2022, we have rebranded as Yuchan Shokudo, a small eatery specializing in ramen (soup noodles), donburi (rice bowls), and rotating specials (e.g., pork tonkotsu ramen, beef gyu-don, etc.). the food was average and expensive. We were 2 people and ordered a calamari and only 1 main dish and it cost us 40$ without any drinks. I was hoping for much better. The workers were very nice and friendly. Overal its average. Its nice to try.

I got the brussel sprout vegetable donburi for the first time at Yuchon Shokudo, and it blew my mind! It was a tasty flavorful dish and the brussel sprouts were amazingly soft and melted in my mouth. All the vegetables very well cooked and sooo tasty. I was amazed. I really like their curry katsu dish and chicken katsu donburi is everything is spectacular. They have an option to get white chicken meat as well!

Great food, friendly service. Wonderful addition to Davis’ food scene. We had ramen and chicken appetizer, and both were great. Sake selection is quite impressive for a ramen spot, too. Loved our servers, they were very busy but always found a moment to see how we were doing, and to get us whatever we needed.

Overpriced and mediocre food, forced gratuity for party above 4 but minimum service. The person who ordered our food was not very nice. We had a party of 5 ordering 4 main dishes + 1 appetizer, and the person who took our order basically asked why are we only ordering 4 dishes. Not a pleasant experience, personally will not come back again.
