My husband I have eaten at Social BBQ twice. Enjoyed both times. My pulled pork sandwich was better the 2nd time I will say and was delicious. Bread is great. Root Beer BBQ sauce is great. Mac & cheese, sweet potato tots with honey butter, awesome, potato salad is great. I got more than enough food and service was excellent both times. Guy beside me had fries and there was a pile of those on his plate with his sandwich and since he and his wife both ate their food I’d assume they enjoyed it. I think working out things with new restaurants is really hard and training cooks correctly takes a bit. There were some bad reviews here but I’ve not had any of those experiences. I love it and will go back.

Rooftop dining was the best part of the meal. BBQ was average at best, brisket and ribs were tough. Sides were good but not for the price. Good for a light lunch and beer in the summer but don’t expect to get what you pay for.

Hands down the best BBQ in Harrisonburg. Read some of the other reviews and not sure what was meant about the hipster scene, because I didn’t get that vibe at all. I had the eggs benedict and my wife had the cornmeal griddle cakes and both were really good. The view from the rooftop is great too. Highly recommend.

Sandwich was just ok. Served on toasted bread. Portion of fries was very disappointing especially for 8.99. Still hungry. Ditto on hipster scene, not expecting on a Sunday for lunch. So much for a quiet lunch. I won’t be back, too bad as it is a nice setting on the rooftop. Why can’t Harrisonburg get a decent BBQ place?

You can definitely find better bbq in Harrisonburg. Which is saying something considering this is a bbq restaurant! The BBQ is just okay and the sides are lacking in quality. I will admit the sweet potatoe tots are delicious, but the mac and cheese is bland and the hush puppies are dry. The service is also a let down. We’ve gone 3 times now and every time have had terrible service! The first visit we waited over 15 minutes for silverware, the second we waited almost 20 minutes to be greeted, and the third visit took 2 hours because our waitress would disappear for large amounts of time and was too busy socializing to pay attention to us. I really wanted to love this place, but I would not recommend it.

Wasn’t what I expected. Waited for 30 minutes. Went to be seated and waited almost 10 min for waitress, time kept ticking as we waited for food. After an hour and half we were finally done without any good impression of food, environment, or atmosphere. Can say we tried it but will not return.
