About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

This is the second time I was there and nobody was up front. I had to go in back to get their attention and it was like I was bothering them. Pizza was NOT good, crust was way too hard. I love Lou’s but not this location. I won’t be back there.

I got my pizza on time, within the hour that I called. The cheese and sausage was to one side of the pizza and it did not taste the same. Not sure what is going on. Very disappointed!! I always look forward to a deep dish. but…..

Don’t order Uber eats. A personal pizza 16.00 is about 4 inches wide. After tip and under charge 30.00 doesn’t say how many inches.

We stopped by to pick up a salad and pizza while in town, 1 st of all the customer service was excellent and the food was delicious, I would recommend this pizza restaurant. There was no dine in eating.

10/21/22: I don’t know if there’s new management or new bakers in the kitchen but our Chicago pizza today was terrible. I received an abomination of a pizza consisting of a super hard crust, a weird watery moat developing near the edges, and a giant circular slab of Italian sausage lightly doused with cherry tomato sauce and heavy handed garlic with unmelted cheese. I can tell it’s likely frozen and you’ve somehow baked it wrong! Adjust your freezer or oven at least. It’s bad enough to think this is frozen and it’s even worse to know I could have done better at home. Jeez.

In town from out of state and was told by family that live here that Lou Malnati’s is great pizza. Well based on my experience it’s awful. Based on reading reviews maybe it is just this location but either way I’m not impressed and felt like I truly wasted $85 on 2 pizzas and wings. The pizza was mushy but the outer crust was hard enough to cut diamonds, the sauce was flavorless and the pizza just didn’t taste like there was any seasoning. I ordered a Deep Dish the Lou which according to the website does not include meat. Well ours had sausage and I do not eat pork so of course I was irritated because I could not even eat the pizza. It was almost 10p so I did not bother trying to make a complaint and get a new pizza, so I just ate the chicken. Overall very unimpressed and disappointed.

It is -2 degrees. We ordered a deep dish “Lou”, and a Malnati salad. The Pizza was hot and delicious, the salad was loaded with toppings. THANKS!

Yesterday I had a friend in town from another country. I asked what American food she wanted to try. She said deep-dish. I ordered a small cheese for the two of us. I’ve had a lot of seep dish in my life. This was by far the worst. I think they sold us one of their frozen pizzas heated in their oven. Either that or it was day old crust. It was so hard you couldn’t cut it with a steak knife. The sauce was also very watery. I’m happy to spend $15 on a small pizza, but no a frozen one. Get it together. What a disappointment. I literally had to apologize to her
