We stopped at this airport restaurant because we were in a hurry to catch our connecting flight to Europe, which was going to be 8 hours, and we knew we would get hungry at some point. There weren’t many choices in this area of the terminal, so we picked this one. It was not a good choice.

Opinion of a European used to eating real Italian food : no, this place has nothing special, pizzas remains airport pizzas, with horrible cheese, they taste bad so don’t listen to the opinions saying the pizza is good, if you’re used to real Italian kitchen you will be disappointed to having paid so much for such low quality. Go buy a sandwich, still expensive for the quality but at least you spend less.

I was here in the evening on July 1, 2023. There were very limited options in this area of the airport. This place was super packed. It was extremely hot in that area of the airport that day. There was a line, but everyone was having a difficult time determining if the line was for seating in the restaurant or for takeout orders. Eventually, a restaurant employee clarified where to queue for seating and for takeout. The man taking the takeout orders barked at the customers. There was no courtesy on his end. There was a lovely woman who helped me figure out whether the pizza could be made vegan. I was able to get a margherita pizza with no cheese but with mushrooms. I enjoyed the pizza well enough. It was not memorable in one way or another, but it did the trick for right before a long flight overseas. Unfortunately, when I checked my credit card statement against my receipt, I noticed Piattino had charged an extra $2 without my authorization. Presumably, this was meant to be a tip, but I know I did not include a tip. I did not sit in the restaurant. No one delivered my pizza to me. My daughter picked it up at the counter. I ate the pizza from a box on my lap in the main part of the airport, and I threw away my own trash. I know $2 is not a lot of money, but it was not theirs to charge without my authorization. What a disappointment!

Yes, the reviews are accurate. This place gets a 2, but only because they have a dome brick oven. It’s a shame the pizza meister burns every single pizza that comes out of the pit. You’ll need a box cutter with a new blade to cut through the crust and dough but unfortunately you’re already past security and won’t have access to the utensils necessary to cut through this cardboard. The staff, when they’re not on their phone, will occasionally glance up at the patrons and eventually bring you pepper flakes and/or Parmesan cheese to mask the flavor of the cardboard. Do yourself (and your wallet) a favor, go somewhere else at Terminal B62-65 at EWR.

We did not expect such quality food in an airport. The pasta was really good and so were the meatballs. Only thing to improve is the bacon was super hard to chew

I ordered Piston salad and it came with so much mustard and fresh onion that my nose was running without stop. After each bite I had to have a sip of water.

Although there were so many people and the waiter was obviously really stressed, He tried to give us the best possible Service. Of course it is sort of expensive at the airport but we really liked the meat and cheese platter and the Pizza Margaritha. I don’t unterstand the bad rating.

Obviously we already had low expectations and calculated the risks, but Boy! are we bad at maths.
