Typical diner with diner food. Right off I45 with lots of trucker traffic and locals Staff was nice and helpful. Chicken fried steak was good and the onion rings and fried okra were crispy.

The food quality has recently declined. Instead of fabulous, it was acceptable. Maybe a new cook, or possibly lower quality recipes. Hopefully it is just temporary.

Wow. Just wow. Great food, great atmosphere, everything hit the spot! Where else can you go to get a chicken strip dinner with peach cobbler as a side? Our server was nice and brought my daughter a coloring book, but wasn’t too chatty and let us eat without bothering us too much. My sweet tea was never empty. The chicken wasn’t dry and the Texas toast wasn’t burnt. Everything is cooked just right. I was wanting comfort food and this was exactly what I needed! We will definitely be back!

I-45 is a really neat old school diner. They even have a jukebox! You can tell it’s been there for years, but the decor gives it character. The only thing that I strongly dislike is the fact that people can still smoke inside, so I wouldn’t recommend taking your children inside. Food is pretty good for the most part. I’ve had their chili, but I don’t think it was homemade. Sometimes the wait can be a little long of the diner is full. The last couple of times we ate in they were short staffed so the waitress had to work extra hard. Last night the cooks and the waitress weren’t getting along very well. I heard several people complaining about their ordered being wrong. Our burger wasn’t made right, but we didn’t send it back because the waitress was clearly flustered and apologized repeatedly. We’ve never had any issues ordering to go though.
