Came here with family, party of 7. The restaurant isn’t too big, maybe only able to accommodate 35-40 customers at a time. The wait staff was attentive and accommodating. We didn’t see the self-service station for sauces and asked the waiter for soy sauce and vinegar. He gladly brought it over for us and let us know if we needed more, we can get it there. They used QR code to view the menu and order, instead of tablet as another reviewer indicated, maybe that’s a recent change, not sure, but we went on 7/15 and didn’t see any tablets. I saw another table with a piece of paper, it looked like they were able to order that way too. So no fear for those still preferring to order the old fashioned way.

This place just opened, so I decided to give it a try today. There wasn’t much people waiting on a weekday, and I got a table fairly quick. I ordered through an iPad, and the food arrived pretty fast. The service was really good. However, I found the taste of the food to be average, nothing special. The portion sizes were moderate. If you live nearby, it’s worth visiting occasionally, but it’s not really worth driving 30 min for the food.

The rice rolls are too expensive and the portion size is extremely small. Basically you can finish it in three bites. Also, the food quality is average at best. There are better options nearby. I do not recommend this place.

Sampan congee is excellent! Remember to sprinkle some soy sauce. Beef rice rolls are ok. For the hot pot rice, I like the taste of Chinese sausage. Salted fish is too salty for me and be careful with the small fishbones! Can choose rice crust or not.

I ordered a beef rice noodle roll and a shrimp rice noodle roll as part of my order. Surprisingly, the beef rice noodle roll was served within a minute, but it tasted far from fresh. The rice noodle skin was broken and incomplete, making it a disappointing bite. It’s clearly not fresh and it was made in advance.

I like this place a lot. I think it’s important to recognize this is a small business serving homely southern Chinese food and have the right expectations. Their best dishes are changfen (rice roll) and their clay pot rice is pretty good too. It is pretty rare in the US to find a good changfen place with everything made fresh and the skin of changfen thin and bouncy. We also ordered salted fish minced pork clay pot rice. The rice was crispy and done correctly, and they actually use the correct salted fish that is used in Asia, which is a pleasant surprise too.
