Rating my personal gastronomic experience at Northern Cafe a 5 out of 5! One of the most decent and better places that offer Chinese cuisine. Food price is reasonable, portioning is good for sharing and customer service is outstanding! Whether it be noodle dish or rice dish or dumpling, the food is divine! Can’t recommend this place enough. Will come back for another northern cafe experience.

Great food at great prices. The best dish might just be the knife cut noodles which were flavorful and just the right amount of chewiness. The soup noodles were ok as were the soup dumplings.

Pretty solid sit-in Chinese food restaurant with traditional selection of Chinese dishes. Me and my mom got the Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles which were amazing in the broth it came in, Juicy Pork Dumplings which were a burst of flavor when you bit into them, Green Onion pancakes were hot fresh and delicious and Chow Mien with chicken also a great dish. Overall great place and nice servers! Will come here again.

This place needs to be as crowded as the TWO GENS NEXT TO THEM. It’s so good here the noodles are fantastic, string beans are fabulous , and the dumplings were so yummy. Please come here ! It’s so good

Really disappointed as I went in to enjoy a nice bowl of Dan Dan noodles. What I got was a beef soup noodles with minced meat and fried egg. When I asked the server what happened to the Dan Dan sauce (sesame paste), he replied that this is the northern version. That did not make sense as northern cafe is a franchise and I have been to several where they actually serve a delicious bowl of Dan Dan noodle. So this response absolutely ruined the food for me. I just wish they told me that they didn’t have Dan Dan noodle and I could’ve gotten something else. Was really looking forward to enjoying my noodle. Instead it ruined the whole meal.

Came with some friends and we all chose some dishes and shared! It was a great price for all the good food we split. The plates are large enough for family style, and we ate it with some white rice. I thoroughly enjoyed everything, but most of all the garlic pork (ribs?) were so so good. Definitely my favorite item that we tried. The place is kinda small, but the food came out super quick and the service was good! Parking is a little hard to find, especially during peak hours-mostly cause of Gen and all the nearby places, but it’s definitely a little hidden gem that I think is worth checking out!

I recently dined at Northern Cafe and was very pleased with most of the dishes we ordered. The string beans, beef bun, and Dan Dan noodles were all delicious.However, I have to say that the beef and tendon noodle soup was a bit disappointing. Although the portion size of the noodles was generous, the soup itself lacked flavor and was quite bland. We even tried adding chili oil and the oil from the wonton, but unfortunately, it didn’t improve the taste.

We really like this place and whenever we drive down from the Bay Area, we end up eating there. We love their spicy noodles and we tried their lamb plate which was great but a little salty.
