They make the best tamales I’ve had since I left California. I bought two dozen to steam later for meal prepped leftovers. Add some Spanish rice, and her tacos are a delicious treat

A charming place with the best tamales in town.. Another entree like tacos is always offered. A dessert and several dips, salsas, and Mexican sodas offered. One feels like you are eating with your Hispanic sister or cousin.

The inside of the restaurant gives you authentic feels. Festivley decorated with a mini store that boost beautiful trinkets and clothing.

What’s not to love about this gem in Lexington! Maria is the most gracious host and her food amazing! As a pescatarian it’s often hard to find delicious choices, but I did here! The tamale masa is so light and fluffy. I had the Poblano & Cheese and Jalapeño & Bean tamales along with the Shrimp Cocktail. Be adventurous, take a chance and you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve driven past this place for literal decades and never thought to try it until a colleague recommended it. I walked in for a late lunch and had the dining room completely to myself, unless you count the company of dozens of hand made piñatas.

This place was amazing! The restaurant from the outside made me think it was just a walk in, order, and leave joint.. boy was I wrong!!

This place is so cute. Looks like an antique shop in the front. Next door to Seoul Market. Lots of color inside. The owner Maria is very sweet. Su inglés es muy bueno. Vegetarian option. You can do beans, japs and cheese from mild to hot. The dresses are $25.

I saw the big sign saying “Best Tamales in town” and I had to stop by, but I’m guessing that is a self appointed title because Anyone with a good palate would not agree. I ordered the chicken tamale and the jalapeño and bean tamale. The technique for preparing the tamales was done perfectly. The tamales were soft and moist and cooked just right. The chef I’m guessing has a lot of talent and experience in the craft. But let me tell you when I say that the lack of flavor made me feel so much further from the Mexican cuisine than ever before, maybe President Trump already built the wall and blocked all the flavors from coming into the states. I do have to give props to the smoky spicy salsa they had, it did help stuff down the tamales a little. So it’s probably best to change the big sign up front to “best mediocre tamales on this street corner”.

On our drive from Ohio to Tennessee, I found this #3 highest ranking restaurant on Yelp. We were not dissappointed.

Great little hole-in-the-wall spot. Excellent tamales, refried beans, and guacamole. I would be interested in trying other items on their menu. The jalapeño and bean tamale was rather exceptional.
