First time here. I know most people havd steak for dinner, but we wanted steak for lunch today and ordered the 12oz rib eye, even though we were told only the sous chef was in at lunch time (should have known). Well, that was a mistake. The steaks came out dark and greasy, you could tell it was covered with the leftover grease from the grill which probably was not cleaned. I thought the meat quality was good, but the sous chef totally screwed it up, very bad!

Food is good. I asked for no dressing in my salad but it had dressing in it. LB Steakhouse in Santana Row is better.

I wanted to try this but now wish I’d opted for some of the more reliable steakhouses in the same area.

Ordered the prime ribeye. Served a thin, mediocre, tasteless steak. I have had better steaks at diners for a third of the price. Manager was unapologetic and indifferent. Sent the steak back and walked over for dinner at the much friendlier, more authentic, less expensive Bistro Vida, down the road.

Best steak in the bay area. I’ve tried Alexander’s (way overrated), Flemings (decent), and Sundance (only their prime rib is passable), but this is much better. Their sides are also delicious and their servers are very personable. Delicious.

Long ways to go before it catches up to its sister restaurant in Santana Row. Much of the food was disappointing and overly greasy. The biggest failing was in the dry aged prime rib eye. While perfectly cooked medium, the meat was tough and dry, with inedible bits of sinew uncommon in dry aged beef.

Came here with my usual dining buddies for SVRW. Half of us ordered from the prix fixe menu and the rest from the regular menu. For a steak house, I’m confused as to why they didn’t have a steak option for SVRW?

This place used to 5 stars in my opinion, but the last time I was there the staff was obviously new and extremely slow. After being seated, our server didn’t even say hello for ten minutes! We were about to leave. The food has always been great though. Hopefully this last time was just a fluke.

The beef they serve is clearly of good quality. Three stars because I was disappointed by the cook on my steak. I ordered off the dinner menu at lunch so that was probably part of the problem but I wouldn’t expect a steak to be cold in the middle when ordered medium rare.
