A very disappointing experience there today. My daughter ordered some cheese nachos, which are not on the overhead menu but which the person at the counter said that they could serve. He then rang it up at $10.84, and I reacted with surprise. Cheese nachos for over ten bucks? He said that they give a large portion, with a lot of cheese, and so I accepted and paid. What we received was really, really underwhelming. It was a styrofoam container with chips . . . but the “cheese” was nothing but a bunch of that orange-ish imitation cheese sauce that one typically sees from cheap snack bars at fairs or sporting events, high school cafeterias, etc. I really don’t get how any reviewers here can laud the place for “authentic” Mexican cuisine when THAT is the “cheese” that is on their nachos. An authentic Mexican place would put actual cheese on there, not that cheap imitation “cheese” sauce. And, I get that inflation is forcing restaurant prices upwards. That is unavoidable. But, you still need to provide a decent product for the price, and that was not done here. Ten bucks for chips plus canned, cheapy “cheese” sauce is simply not just. I have not tried the other food at this taqueria, but I am definitely going to avoid it now, based on today’s experience.

Taco grande makes everything from scratch daily. It’s the best like home cooked Mexican food meal ever. I’ve been going here since childhood. It’s always a great walk down memory lane to return. The food is delicious. Try the asada! Grande plate. Grande burrito. Grande tacos. Nachos. Tostadas. Beans. Rice. Pastor. Pollo. Everything. Try anything.

Great tacos and speedy service! Grande taco comes with meat, beans, salsa, and avocados. The other tacos don’t come with any of the toppings. Extra salsa is in the fridge (wished their salsas had more spice). I was told by a coworker to get their tortas next time I go. Definitely a great spot for a quick lunch!

Best authentic Mexican food in Fresno. Best tacos in town. They have even won awards for it. Try their Taco Grande with Al Pastor meat and added sour cream. Add some of their spicy green salsa and it’s the best thing ever!

This family-owned restaurant is as close as a landmark as it gets. They have been around at least since 2003, and their tacos have won numerous awards at local taco festivals. They have lots of options for Mexican food, and their green salsa is amazing. Food ranges from tacos to burritos and food plates that are brimming with food. The meat options are plentiful, e.g., chicken, carne asada, lengua, shrimp, and pork, and they also have meatless options. The owners pop in and greet everyone at the restaurant, making them feel at home. It is a small place and not fancy (by no means not a dive), but it is a place where you feel a part of the family.

El Taco Grande has been my go to place for outstanding tacos, since 1999/2000! The original storefront is cozy and excellent for good conversations with friends. Delicious ingredients that make flavorful food.

We came here in the morning. Ordered a chili Verde breakfast burrito, chicken taco medino, and a meatless taco for pickup. Cost less than $16. Food did not look good, but it tasted AMAZING. We really liked the beans which tasted fresh. Chicken was not overly salty. Tacos were soggy. Presentation could use work, but the taste is there.

I’m from outside of town needed something quick and delicious and by all means they did a great job. I’d give them a five star if they had a salad bar for customers and maybe get something to cool down the room cause it was pretty hot in there but overall food was on point.

Wow! I had the chicken tortas. The chicken was done beautifully. So tender and flavorful. I’m gonna miss this place… I can’t wait to be in this area again.
