Bellisario’s Restaurant Menu – Allison Park, PA

Type : Pizza restaurant

Location : Allison Park, PA

Bellisario’s Restaurant is a family-owned Italian pizzeria in Allison Park, Pennsylvania. A few years after moving from Italy, brothers Antonio and Donato opened Bellisario’s pizzeria in December of 1975. While growing up in Gamberale, Italy, the brothers learned how to prepare exemplary Italian food from their family throughout the region. Antonio and Donato knew they wanted to offer an Italian restaurant that shared the authentic homemade Italian food from their childhood, and that would bring people together in the Pittsburgh area. Today, the Bellisario family feels most grateful for the relationships they have built over forty years with their loyal customers in a community they love.

This place is the real deal. No BS – just old-school, Italian pizza.

We had to Veal Parm that was more like the old school Italian and pretty good. Had a salad with Italian dressing, pasta with bolognese sauce that wasn’t dad but wasn’t good I wouldn’t order it again. It had mushrooms and a little too sweet and very little meat. Also had a pepperoni pizza which wasn’t too bad. They do have a very extensive menu that is cheap compared to other Italian restaurants of this category.

The pizza restaurant may be good for other menu items but, the Sicilian pizza is not their all-star menu item, from the dough to the cheese, it was awful.

We went when they were busy and sat close to the kitchen. The food was okay, wouldnt get the Zucchini aticks appetizers as they werent good and you get a few of them at best. Also didnt have a designated waitress just whoever passed by. Their was a manager or owner who was yelling at a waitress by our table and seemed pretty unnecessary to do in front of customers.

Bellisario Pizza is a casual Italian restaurant. Their menu lists pizza, pasta, steak, chicken, veal, seafood, hoagies, appetizers, and desserts. I called this restaurant to order food for takeout. The restaurant was very busy with other customers, but my food was ready in one hour as promised. I thought that the pizza was excellent. The hoagie, lasagna, chicken parmesan, and French fries were average.

I’ve never like spaghetti but holy these housemade are delicious. The wedding soup rivals my Nonna’s. Don’t bother with the onion rings or pizza, the Italian dishes are unrivalled

A native Pittsburgher, I never realized how lucky I was to have so many delicious local pizza places so close to me. Before I left to travel the country, I choose Bellisarios as my local favorite spot. This was in the early 80’s. I have tried to find these fantastic flavor combos everywhere I have lived and visited. Including New York. Bells still ranks as #1. I finally made it back home for the first time in 2 years, and Bellisarios was my first food stop, and first time I’ve been since the remodel.

Food isn’t anything phenomenal and falls in line with the chain Italian restaurants. The service (at time of my visit) was horrendous and blame was placed on short staffing. However, I witnessed the real cause – management blatantly yelling at staff in the dining area and waving fingers in employees faces while threatening to fire them.
