My wife and I ate there today and I was very happy with everything. I had the pulled pork and seasoned fries. Both were excellent. My wife had the brisket melt and liked it.

My goal is to try everything on the menu. Had the Mississippi Mess this weekend, it was wonderful. The fried green tomatoes were delicious. They would make a great side. My spouse just loves the ribs, so meaty and tender. The collards are as good as my grandmothers.

The food was very very good. I had a Brisket Melt sandwich that was a pile of thin sliced, juicy brisket with a slice of mild pepperjack cheese melted together just right. That was lunch on a Wed, I went back on Friday and got a delicious, and generous, half rack of Perfect Ribs and couple sides for about $20! I’LL BE BACK !!

I wanted to love this place. The website is cool. The menu hade drooling before I got there. I was so excited to eat here. Around 5 I called take sure they would be open till 7 like their Google listing says. I know sometimes small business close early or things change. I called and asked “I just want to check to make sure yall are open till 7.” The young woman that answered the phone just said “no”. I waited a second and I said “ok, what time do you close tonight?” She followed up with “6:45”. I thanked her and hung up. I figured she was younger… I have teenagers so I didn’t think much of it. Upon arriving we walked up to order. I told the young woman at the register I was starving and was going to order a lot. When I started giving my order, I ordered multiple sides. She said “it only comes with one side” seemingly annoyed. I said “I know I want to order additional sides.” It was apperant it was the same person that answered the phone. It just sucks when your genuinely excited to eat some where and the service is nonexistent. Atmosphere and service is 40% of the experience in my opinion. As far as the food goes. The food comes in styrofoam in a plastic bag as a to go order. We decided to eat in. We had to go up and ask for utensils, which wasn’t a big deal but there was already a sense of unwelcomeness to the whole thing. The pulled pork was smoked well, lightly seasoned. I got the Mac Attack. Not a ton of flavor to the Mac n cheese on my sandwich. The BBQ sauce was awesome. Great flavor! The beans were amazing. They have those down for sure. The greens weren’t favorite, I’ve been dying for some solid collards for awhile. They were more on the tart side, would have loved to taste more meatness to them. I also had coleslaw… I love the consistency of them, flavor was lacking a bit. My kid loved the seasoned fries, and I agree they’re pretty good. Portion sizes were fair. $3 for each additional side. They have canned soda which kind of stinks if you drink a lot while eating. I understand the concept of carry out containers and canned soda… but it felt like it wasn’t a sit down restaurant due to that and maybe that’s the goal. I know what to expect now. I’d go again if I was grabbing and going. I respect what the owners have as far as selection, pricing, and overall production. I can see there is heart in the kitchen. I just had high hopes it was going to be this awesome place with a great atmosphere based on the website talking about the musical atmosphere and southern cooking. Crossing my fingers something changes, because the potential is there!!

Second time I’ve placed an order to go and get home and am missing something. Ordered pulled pork sandwich and asked for coleslaw on the side but when I got home there was no Coleslaw.

Had the Mississippi Mess. Great sauce, great smoke, great flavor, but hidden underneath that pulled pork was also one of the best burgers around. Good stuff.
