We were just driving around enjoying the day and decided to find a place for lunch. I checked maps and this place popped up, neither of us had heard of it, but the reviews were good and the pictures were great. The place was almost full when we arrived. We sat at the lunch counter and ordered, then asked to move to a table when one opened and they quickly accommodated us. I went with the country fried steak breakfast with eggs, hash browns and toast. I asked for the hash browns crispy and they were damn near perfect. The eggs and steak were absolutely delicious as well. Most people don’t talk about toast but this was the perfect shade and loaded with butter. My partner originally wanted a breakfast burrito but switched to a soup/sandwich combo once she saw another person eating soup. She had their chicken/dumpling soup and a chicken salad sandwich. She said the soup was amazing and she ate it so quickly I couldn’t get a picture. I will say it looked good and I don’t even like chicken/dumplings. Her chicken salad looked delicious and tasted even better she said. It was a very generous portion also.

Someone was smoking inside when we got there. The service was not very friendly, and the bathrooms were filthy. The burgers were pretty good, but the fries were undercooked and soggy. I was done with my meal and the server asked if I wanted my drink refilled and I said “sure why not”. The server came back with my drink and took my bill away and changed it to add the extra for the refill. (Note they never mentioned the refill would be extra, or I never would have asked for one). Lastly there were flies/gnats throughout the restaurant.

Wish I had got a chance to try it but they had new summer hours closing at 2 p.m. and I got there at 2:15. Did not know. Other pictures of the place and the food drew me to it since I’m a boomer.

Great small town diner! Lots of options, even for the picky kids. Indoor or outdoor seating available. Staff was very sweet and worked great together to get the job done. We will return!
