Stopped by Queeny’s for a late lunch. Atmosphere was casual and fun. Drinks/cocktails were good. As expected for a bar. The food was surprisingly delicious. The burger was good and I would return for the birria french dip that my wife got. I’m glad she didn’t finish hers so I could have it. A little pricey but all items were worth the cost. We went during a not busy time. The service could get behind during the rush but our experience was great.

Great food even late. Now open earlier you can stop in for a brunch or lunch the night time atmosphere is very festive. A cool music scene DJ on the weekends hits great. New people from area hotels lead to great people watching and smooth interactions. Colorful artwork and interior design. I always like to see the owners enjoying the place and just like I am.

From the outside you may notice the sign, think about how long this place has been here and continue to walk on by. It has an “old town Durham” feel from the outside and until recently was not open for lunch. I work a 3 minute walk away and for 3 years have always wanted to have lunch there. We’ll, it finally happened and everything far exceeded my expectations. This place is huge! It has nice inside seating with everything from large tables, well stocked bar, fun beers and small nooks to sit in if you just want to relax and enjoy the scene. Out back there is plenty of outdoor seating and you can even sit on the sidewalk out front if you want. The menu was not “same same”, everything was fresh and prepared by people who cared. 13/10 for sure!

Found this bar while wondering Durham with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. We got two beers and shared fried pickles and fries. The fried pickles were cut long like fries and had a great crunch. Fries are nothing special but not oily and cut like McDonald’s. We later sat inside and watched live jazz music throughout the night and local drag queens come and go. It’s a great lil bar and fun place to hang out at night.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful! If you have any questions they’re always willing to find an answer even if they aren’t sure! They play lots of throwback R&B songs so it a nice, chill vibe. They also have outdoor seating if you’re looking for a daytime bar with a nice ambiance. I definitely will be back here!

I went on Friday night with my girlfriends. The music and the atmosphere were good. I ordered beers and two of my friends ordered food and said the birria and hamburger were good. You have to order at the bar. The bartender is not the best we don’t recommend the margaritas.

Nice, cozy local downtown spot with good food & friendly people. First timer this past weekend with my son, who’s raved about the brisket for at least 2 years! The brisket lived up to the hype! Yummm!!!

I’m so glad we discovered this little gem of a bar. The bartenders add so much to the experience. We sat at the bar and struck up conversations with other patrons who only had wonderful things to say about the food and drinks. This no frills bar offers beers, wine and select liquor drinks. The selection of bar foods is amazing. Definitely try the tempura chicken tenders with fried pickles. Absolutely delicious.

Welcoming, friendly, and fun are just a few words to describe Queeny’s. A few friends and I were walking around hungry after a long and fun night. The fun continued as soon as we saw a few folks outside at Queeny’s. We were greeted by a guy who was so sweet and insisted on checking our id’s because we didn’t look over the age of 25–sure. We found a spot inside the dark bar with a wrap around bar and several table tops. What got me was the tiny table that had a flower top that reminded me of something similar my grandmother had! It was nostalgic and fun.

I really enjoy Queeny’s. Been there three times and the food has always been fresh. It’s a tad pricey but worth it. I love the vibe. Diverse and helpful staff is a plus. It’s relatively small but super intimate. They also have a mini library and podcast room that you can use. This is a must check out hidden gem if Durham!
