A perfect latte was served today! I tried Old School Espresso and then bought a half pound of that and the traditional to compare!! Old School is smooth and velvety! The cashier and barista were fantastic! I live down the street from the owner, but have never told him how much I enjoy his smooth roasted beans!!!

I have come here a few times, and I am always happy with my drink. I like to come later in the day because it’s less busy and you can really speak to the staff about what they recommend and why. They all know so much about coffee and are eager to share with their patrons. They also sell bags of beans – they have a small roaster at this location so everything is fresh!

Great coffee, great service, great smell, great atmosphere. They roast their own coffee. Definitely recommend!

My partner and I love Valhalla Coffee so we order it online and get a few bags to last us through the month. For the last two months, the coffee beans smell and taste burnt. Has anyone else noticed this? Have the beans or the roasting process changed?

I get to drink art in a cup. It’s awesome. They also roast their own beans so the place just smells phenomenal right when you walk in.

The coffee is really good, there’s no way around it. They take great care to make the perfect cup, which takes time, I suppose, since they only have 2 people working the shift So if you’re prepared to wait 15+ minutes for your coffee during busy morning hours, you’ll get a great cup of coffee after the wait However, if you’re in a hurry, this may not be the place.

I feel that what sets Valhalla apart from many phenomenal coffee shops in Tacoma is (1) they roast their beans in-store, (2) their staple roasts are a bit on the darker end of the spectrum (compared to, say, Bluebeard or Olympia), and (3) they’ve been around awhile. Valhalla feels to me like a big part of what makes Tacoma, Tacoma! Come get roasted!

The coffee is simply the best. There’s no topping it. The seating isn’t great. It gets really loud, very fast. Can be over stimulating.
