VERY old building, limited parking, slow service, but the food….OMG! SO DELICIOUS! The appetizer plate with fish, crawfish, alligator and shrimp for 2 was huge!

The food is incredible. Everything is fresh , you have to wait about half an hour before being served. But it’s some really fine cuisine and it was worth every second of wait. This was the best meal i had in Lousiana.

Unique is an understatement Soon as you walk in, it feels like you’re in someone’s grandma’s house. You would think that would be a great thing in the South? Not here!!! (Believe me!, you’d have to see it to understand). We were literally the only people there on a Friday at lunch time. The owner/chef talks a lot and has a tendency to wanna touch you, for some reason. She just kept putting her hand on my mom’s shoulder, every time she came to the table like she knew us or something. Then the food came (with canned sodas that she pours into plastic cups with ice)…and talk about . No seasoning whatsoever!! No salt, pepper, onions, garlic…absolutely nothing. Had the crawfish etoufee with fried crawfish tails and mom had frog legs. Looked like Chinese crawfish that was defrosted and fried and the rice was hard. The most disgusting meal you’ve ever eaten. Then to close out the meal, they only accept Venmo or CashApp ♀️ what if I didn’t have or know how to use those apps? Save your stomach and your money and go elsewhere!!!

Wow! talk about one funky place with an interesting history and interesting matron, Jacqueline herself in the person! We are tourists in the area so don’t compare to a review by locals but we hit at a time when we were the only ones in the place so spent 30 min talking to Jacqueline learning all about her life in France, journey to America, and her model grand daughter who’s photos are posted. We had bignets which she made fresh and coffee. Yum! Her place is reminescent of one of my favorite Baltimore haunts called Fat Eddies, just funky conglomeration of photos, pictures, and just so much old stuff, stuffed everywhere. Definitely recommended if you like that kind of cult thing and we do. However, the day we were there, there were several folks out on the street right in front with MH issues and police were all around, not sure why.

I enjoyed my seafood gumbo. It was nice talking with the owner, Jacqueline. I like stopping here for lunch on my trips to Florida.

We ate at this lovely restaurant today. My husband ate breakfast and I had a bowl of the seafood gumbo. The food was fantastic. My mom makes great gumbo but this seafood gumbo was better than my moms. (Sorry mom). They served a warm French bread loaf and a side salad. The atmosphere was fantastic and we really enjoyed the conversation with the owner and her daughter. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We ordered and waited for 2 hours and didn’t get our order. We walked away hungry. This is beyond slow service. I cannot recommend patronizing them. Apologies to the nice waitress.

Be prepared to wait for fresh food. It’s fine French dinning in a casual atmosphere. Get off your phone and enjoy the company.
