Among the best places in the treasure Valley before the family environment of being owned and operated and all recipes authentic freshly made and unique to the cultural background of Janitzio And what did it for me was the Coke machine with Mexican drinks and of course it’s stored tortillas hot sauce and other items which only a family-owned business would have out front, Coming from a family owned business and making the food along with taking the orders at the age of 14 helping out the family business I was just part of what we needed to do And so when I look for authenticity I’ll look for those key elements and you will not be disappointing when you try this place out if you know real Mexican food

Unfriendly, no customer service, not once did anyone come to our table and ask whether we wanted to order any thing else or needed anything. Small servings, poor idea of a salad, two tablespoons of rice, for the salad I asked for lemon instead of dressing, a thin slice of lemon, instead of a wedge was brought to me. How do you squeeze that on the salad, the place was full of relatives all sitting at one big table, no one welcomed us, or gave us a smile, it seemed like maybe they felt they were superior “we’re the owners and we’re a step above you. The only positive point, was my partner found the “Pollo en Mole” was tasty with a spicy bite. We haven’t returned and never will. Too many good restaurants around.

Food was amazing. Service was great. What a rarity to be at one of just a few occupied tables on Valentine’s Day. Used to be a café and the current owner has an old menu laminated. The bathroom is different – its not for tall people and made me feel off-kilter and giggle at the absurdity of it all. The sweet corn tamales with pineapple and raisins were a different taste for us. Heavy and weighty and not overly sweet. Overall a great, friendly experience!

This place is legit. Very good food. I had the Chile Colorado. The meat was cut and cooked perfectly, very tender. The red sauce was full of flavor with a slight hint of chipotle. The true test of any Mexican restaurant is the rice. It passed with flying colors, I wished I had more rice. I will be back next time I am in town.
