At our Katy, TX location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Came by to give Captain D’s a try! The service was GREAT and so was the food! It was busy and the kitchen Chef was also on a hustle to serve all of us in such a timely manner and even though it was so busy he spoke to his team with such respect and the kitchen staff was able to handle business! I ordered the catfish dinner. Arrived home and it was cold, raw and pink inside. Called them and the manager on duty states that I would have to drive all the way back (30+ min) to get refunded but originally said he’d like to remake the meal. No way. I just want my money back.

New location just tried out earlier this week. The fish was crispy outside and tender inside. I’ve always loved malt vinegar (who thought that stuff up?). Wife had shrimp with fried okra and coleslaw. Some people criticize their shrimp but this is not pappadeaux’s people! As prepared this is a tasty bargain. The staff was friendly and came out to check to see that our meal was good and whether we needed anything else, condiments or such. The place was clean and the food came out fast. Two satisfying meals for like $16 total after tax. We will be back
