We moved here from Texas and it’s been months since we’ve had any decent Mexican food. I really wasn’t expecting much from this little restaurant in Dixon, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. The pollo Gordo is absolutely delicious. My margarita was excellent. Good portions and completely fair prices.

While the service was a nice experience, we ordered food to go. We had 8 soft tacos, 3 beef burritos, and a cheese quesadilla. The chips they gave us were bland and stale, the tacos were bland and soft as well as cold, the burritos came out looking like enchiladas as well as being soggy and cold. And the cheese quesadilla was nothing more than a tortilla with white American cheese warmed up in the microwave to melt the cheese. I live 12 minutes away from the restaurant, so there is absolutely no reason the food should have been cold. My animals even turned up their noses at the food. Taking it back to get my money back. Worst experience I’ve ever had with Mexican food and definitely don’t recommend this place to eat.

The restaurant is a nice, clean, relaxed environment with a friendly, attentive staff. This was the second time my wife and I ate here. I had the #1 lunch that consisted of chili relleno, hard taco (loaded with good stuff), beans, and a nice guacamole salad. It was delicious. I highly recommend this place. We’ll definitely be back ! ! !
