Let me preface this post by saying we like to support local. My husband and I love craft beer and we’re thrilled to have a local place with 32 taps. The original management at the Handlebar killed it. We would go every Friday after work and during COVID ordered from there often. With such a fondness for the place we were really hopeful that this new management could be the turning point. Went for dinner on Friday 8/25, it was busy still several open tables. It took 20 minutes to get our first beer after ordering. We ordered food before we got our beers. It took over an hour to get french dips that were dry and sparse on the meat with about a 1/4 of the fries we would normal get. Our waitress never stopped to talk or ask if we needed anything, just hollered as she walked by an apology or do you need anything. Our beer order was wrong.

Met with family on Friday, August 18th for lunch. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the food was great! Several family members enjoyed the signature burger, and I had the wings- naked just like I love them with their in-house ranch. We are so excited this little gem in Dallas Center is coming back to life and look forward to many more trips. Thanks Shannon and crew for the great visit!

I order trail fries and a cheeseburger. After at least 20 mins, I got a normal fries and a mediocre burger. The patty was not juicy and the buns were dry.

NEW staff- not motivated or aware of patrons. ONE waitress was basically only one really working. Mom and daughter behind the bar didn’t know what they had and had to look it up every time. Mom was only one that could work the POS computer. Guy at end of bar on laptop must have been someone with bar. It didn’t do a thing -didn’t know squat about behind the bar. I’m assuming part of new ownership- good luck

Really nice bar owner. There is a lovely lake behind the restaurant and two shelter houses. It’s right off the bike trail in Dallas center. They have a walk-up bar.

This place was an awesome find. The flavor profile of the food was amazing, the craft brew selection was plenty, the service staff was so upbeat and friendly. The “backyard seating” was an awesome touch (especially during covid to allow social distancing). Yes, the price point is a bit higher but the food quality And style for sure make it worth every dollar. We will most defineatly be back.

We’ve been to the handlebar several times. The service is top notch, with a comfortable atmosphere and the food was fantastic. Our server (Stacey) gave us great recommendations! Can’t wait to come back when we can be on the bike trail.
