We went to celebrate our 6th anniversary in this restaurant. It was Thursday evening at almost no people in there but we booked our table ahead of time to be sure. The view and atmosphere is very nice as it is right next to the ocean. I also loved our server from Jamaica. I ordered salmon risotto which was very delicious. We also ordered the bread appetizer. A place like this should maybe have this as an added bonus to start with. We then looked at the deserts as well but nothing really peaked our interest as we wanted something really chocolate based and they did not have anything with only chocolate base. There was a lemon cake, coconut rice pudding, peanut cake, banana bread pudding etc. The surprise came that we were then charged a “forced 20 %” gratuity in the end. When my husband commented about that to the host lady and she took it very seriously and actually got us a little anniversary cake as a gift. Even though we did not think of returning because of the forced gratuity – the cake gift was a nice touch and we may consider returning in the future. The whole hotel lobby experience was also very special. I feel very attracted to the mermaid theme and there were very special pictures of water and mermaids. We parked in the public parking and walked a bit to the restaurant but you can also valet park in the hotel. You can then validate your parking while you eat.

The Abalone Restaurant is the restaurant inside the Daytona Grande hotel. Just finished lunch. The local green salad was very fresh and quite large. Toasted chickpeas were a wonderful addition. Dessert was peanut butter pie: Fantastic and beautiful presentation. Service was competent and friendly.

Beautiful restaurant right on the water with a great variety on the menu. I usually have a hard time with pescatarian and vegan/vegetarian options because of the variety of dietary needs for my family but we all had options that were actually really good. The decor is great and it’s just really classy. A pleasant surprise in Daytona Beach.

Ordered some coconut pudding that was really awesome but the breakfast buffet was $52 for TWO PEOPLE, and it automatically included 18% gratuity. That’s ridiculous for having someone bring you a glass of water and a check. You can eat at IHOP literally across the street for half that.

Food was excellent some of the best that I had. But unfortunately, the service needs some work. The timing between appetizer and dinner is very important. And they failed when you are still working on. Your appetizer and dinner comes out is a big turn off.And you should not be waiting around for a drink for 40 minutes. Don’t know if I will be back but the food is delicious. I may give it one more try.

I left hungry. The restaurant is very pretty – the reason my daughters insisted on eating there. The service was friendly and tried but not top notch. Refills should arrive without requests as one example of where it fell short. The food took FOREVER. We arrived a few minutes after 6pm, restaurant was slow. Server didn’t rush to take an order which was fine, but our food didn’t hit the table until 7pm. My husband ordered fish with Brussels sprouts. It looked like cafeteria food or nursing home food. It was so bland and just not tasty. My daughter and I each ordered fettuccini Alfredo. DISGUSTING. The best way to describe the consistency is that the noodles were buried in mashed potatoes. Except it was t mashed potatoes – it was some weird cheese blend. There was way more of the ‘sauce’ than there was noodles. It was awful. Service didn’t ask why my plate was full. My parents also joined us. My mom had pasta primavera. She said it tasted like a pickled meal. It was also unappetizing. I would not recommend eating more than a plain burger and fries here – my dad’s meal, and even that was just that – plain.
