Another amazing neighborhood spot from the team that brought us Earls premier. I don’t know how they manage to make a restaurant immediately feel like it’s been part of the neighborhood for years but they have that magic. Great service and food made with quality ingredients. On our first visit, we were treated to a slice of prosciutto that was shaved so thin that it just dissolved into a delicious cloud when it hit my tongue. The pizza crust is crispy and light and topped with just the right amount of ingredients to highlight the combination of flavors.

My wife and I are huge fans of Earl’s Premier and have been eager to try Bacaro Primo, a relatively new Italian spot in Brookside from the same ownership. Last night we finally were able to join some friends there and had a stellar dinner. Some highlights:

Sam Hall is an extraordinary chef, I have been eating his food for many years. I have never been disappointed. And here he is, right in the middle of his native element. The menu is already great, and I can’t wait to see what he gets to do with it.

This restaurant is so good that I had to go twice in one week. I highly recommend the deep-fried olives…there are 2 per order and I wouldn’t share my order. Everything I have had has been delicious.

The atmosphere is amazing and cozy! The food is phenomenal and delicious. I brought my Italian mother and we enjoyed the pizza, pasta and the focaccia bread. I recommend this Italian ristorante for a lovely night out with friends or an intimate couple’s dinner. We cannot wait to come back and sample more goodies from the menu.

A beautiful space that is perfect for an afternoon glass of wine, or a taste of the full menu. The focaccia is the perfect way to complement any of their wonderful drinks. I’ll be back for sure.

We walked in, we’re lucky enough to get two seats at the bar. The bartender, Sean, was amazing! We started talking with the couple next to us… they were locals… GREAT conversation and such wonderful food! Enjoying experiences is a wonderful way to go through this life!

Whilst I have enjoyed their original restaurant Earl’s Premier, albeit not entirely (see review), their new venture is an example of an ownership group that believes they have the midas touch but frankly do not. The food is largely bland and whilst menu items sound enticing, they fail to deliver. Under-seasoning is the main hallmark of each dish, pesto pasta was the only dish that was not underwhelming but it too needed more punch to the flavor. Deep fried olives were on point, foccacia was tasty but needed some sea salt sprinkled on it as is typical in Italy. The eggplant was flavorless which is frankly hard to do with this traditional dish. I think they can execute what they are seeking to do but opening a $1 oyster and charging $5 (a la Earl’s) might have been a winning concept, they need to do more here to sustain a fickle customer base.
