We’ve been driving by Maggy’s for a couple years on our way over the pass always saying someday we’ll stop. Today we stopped. We were greeted enthusiastically at the front desk and promptly show to a seat and presented with chips and salsa. The salsa was thick with good flavor and not to spicy. The chips were solid, older style that held the salsa without breaking. We both ordered chicken burritos and Cadillac margaritas. The margaritas were fresh and very tasty. The burritos were beautiful to look at and excellent. Don’t wait years like we did to try Maggy’s. Great spot.

After making ourselves visible multiple times, we waited 15 mins to be seated, than another 15 minutes to place the order. Food was decent but the black beans were watered down. Needless to say, no one came to check on us or we could catch their attention to ask for extra napkin. The man who was our server, made us select the tip first before he swiped our card. So, rather than letting us chose the tip, he forcefully asked us what percentage we will be adding. I have never seen anything like this!

Maggy’s Family Restaurant offers great food and service. We came here for dinner and the enchiladas were great! The salsa was different that other Mexican restaurants that I have been to before, but was also delicious. We had a Mai Tai and Margarita and both drinks were good. We would come back again if we are in the area.

Great service and beautiful area/location. But overall the food was terrible. The carnitas enchilada was delicious and tasted authentic! The fajitas holder is amazing, love it, but the chicken and veggies were luke warm and tasted like teriyaki. The menu mentions “special marinated meat” and it tasted like pre-made stir fry sauce with a teriyaki flavor. The drinks were not any better. I got the magonada margarita, which was supposed to have habanero infused tequila but it tasted like bloody Mary mix (strong horseradish & tomato flavor) with some juice, it was odd. The Cadillac margarita tasted like straight orange juice.

My husband and I both had the fajitas (steak and chicken) – they were fantastic and delicious!! The chips and salsa were also great. Great prices, Great food, Great location – superb place to stop on the way through Gold Bar!!! Highly recommend!! The service was also amazing.

The chips and sauce were excellent! Someone in our party who has been to Mexico, said this is how the chips taste in Mexico. The food was very good. Our server was attentive and helpful. All in all, a great experience. If I lived closer, I would come back again.
