Most of us had sushi and a couple had tacos. Everyone enjoyed their food. I think the Black Widow roll was everyone’s favorite.

We enjoyed this place. We had the fried dumplings, Chef Roll, and a couple tacos. All were very good. They add a hidden 10% surcharge on bill for “inflation and high gas prices.” They should be upfront about charging more than the listed prices. Server was friendly. I would recommend this place.

Kaizen Tavern has some of the best Sushi you can find in the area. Their tempura fried philly is also a unique hot roll, and definitely worth a shot. All of that would be worth 5 stars, but then somehow they also manage to serve delicious tacos! I recommend the pork belly.

First, their happy hour does not apply to takeout, which is what I did. Sad. Second, this price is insane for two basic rolls. $32 for just two regular rolls?! And, even at this price there really isn’t much fish and they still used cucumber. Also, a 10% fee on top for something too?? I’ve had much better sushi at many places in the area. SKIP THIS PLACE

Weve been going to Kaizen for about ~2 years and it was our go to spot when friends were in town. Unfortunately we went last week and there was a palpable decline in every aspect of the restaurant.

I love this place. However, they still have a 10% restaurant fee on the check. I’ve talked to Kelvin about it, and he says he doesn’t know how to remove the line from the receipt. I completely understand them having the fee during the pandemic but it been over two years now. That 10% that they are charging should go to the waiters, bartenders. And I don’t know of any other restaurants that continues to charge you a fee.

The small plates are where it’s at! The tacos were good. The takoyaki balls were incredible. The rolls were very small, but tasted great. Definitely would expect bigger rolls for the price. Overall great experience.

Service was great however, the quality of the food didn’t warrant the prices. “Asian-Fusion” was as you would expect in downtown Del Rey, not terrible, not terribly noteworthy. Admirable attempt at “Birria Ramen” was lukewarm carne asada in grocery grade broth. The spicy salmon avocado roll was equally unmemorable.

People are so petty. I can’t believe some of the poor reviews. This place is great. The sushi is top notch, the tacos are MOUTH WATERING and the staff is friendly. PLUS they have some really good drinks.

Staff and food are great. It’s my daughter’s favorite place. But the 10% automatically added service fee (which does not go to the staff) is absurd, and we choose other places in Del Ray because of it.
