I’d say the food was just so-so. Although i here that the breakfast is phenomenal!! Will come back for that. Service was excellent and prices are more then fair. Was happy to find a lunch restaurant open past two ;p

Nice southern style hometown place to eat. I had the Thursday lunch special which was 8 bucks and change. It was great with meatloaf

I meant to write this review 4 months ago when I visited Sunset. My friend and I were out on our motorcycles, and my friend got a flat rear tire. We were by chance right outside Sunset Restaurant without knowing it. We went in at about 2pm and the staff, although finished with the lunchtime rush, made us feel welcome. We ordered and ate good food, freshly cooked and very nicely prepared and served. The owner and other members of the public in the restaurant were knowledgeable about motorcycle tire places and phoned up to see if the mechanic was open. He was open, we got the tire fixed, and everything turned out well.

Nice , clean restaurant and pleasant waitress. We ordered fried chicken and sides. The chicken was not hot when it arrived, overcooked and dry. The cook should have thrown out the batch he was saving to serve and started over with fresh fried chicken. Better to loose a little money than a customer. The cook needs to be careful of the quality of food that leaves the kitchen.

Considering I have lived here in Franklin for years….and have never been till now! Loved it. First off make sure you have cash! Secondly, the service was as good as it gets. Plenty of seating. Pleasant atmosphere. No public WiFi. The food was great. The eggs were perfect as I ordered. Came out very quickly. Portions were plenty enough that I could bring home half. Coffee was good as well. Looking forward to going again. Well worth it. Thank you for the great experience!

We felt that the portions of our foods were too small. Four of us ordered mashed potatoes, with the daily special. The amount of mashed potatoes were so small that it was equal to 4 tablespoons of mashed potatoes & 2 teaspoons of gravy! It actually shocked us! One of our sides was a garden salad. It was served in a very small bowl, like applesauce would be served to a child. Although the food was good, the portions were a disappointment. We would not go back or recommend this restaurant because of the small servings.

We enjoyed a quiet late lunch at Sunset on a Friday afternoon. The service was great! The food was good. It’s a simple menu with fresh specials. Unfortunately we were too late in the afternoon to get their fresh berry pies. Make sure to bring cash or an ATM card.

Our family visited here – twice ! It is friendly, comfortable and dependable food, prepared in a simple fashion. I had the cold plate and loved everything on it, including the delicious cole slaw! Based on the number of people there each time we go, it is the place to be in Franklin!
