Retta Jean’s Cafe is not only a favorite place of mine to eat; but I’m lucky enough to get to work here! The owner has become a second mom to me and she’s more than just a boss. The loyalty and care she shows to me; also shows in our food. Each menu item is made with love, effort and consistency. And boy let me mention the homemade pies!!! All hand made by Lori with differing options each week.

The food and service was great. It has a great family feeling. I had the Brisket sandwich with a little bit of barbecue sauce. Husband had the chicken club.

Food was wonderful! Our waitress was lovely. However, the child of another waitress was yelling loudly the whole time and I feel that was inappropriate. Not a good experience for visitors.

It is now called Retta Jean’s . Under new owners . It was very good food and large servings . I had the breaded tenderloin, and sister had the beef Manhattan . It was actually real beef roast and gravy real mashed tatas . The broccoli and cheese soup was for me to thin . Needed more cheese . But all in all was a very good lunch . And they were very busy . That, of course, is always a good sign . I would recommend trying it out . And only spent 28.00 for 2 full meals with a drink . Not bad at all .

Great sandwiches, best coleslaw I have had in years. Very cute little place, not far from the highway – worth the stop!

My husband and I decided to try this little local restaurant while in the area for the weekend. We were not disappointed. It reminded me of a Sunday dinner at Mamaw’s house. We both had the catfish dinner special that came with three sides. The catfish tasted fresh and appeared to be hand-breaded, the mashed potatoes and gravy were clearly homemade (a few lumps in the potatoes and pieces beef in the gravy), the tomatoes tasted like they came from a local garden, the coleslaw was probably one of the best I have ever had (he voted it the best he has ever had), and the apples were not overcooked or overly sweet. Kayla was our server and was fantastic. She took great care of us and was very sweet and friendly. I am sure we will be visiting at least once more while we are here.
