Ellie’s is as good as it gets for an up north diner here in MI! I love the cozy cabin-like atmosphere they have inside, and the place is kept very clean despite how busy they get. The waitress I had was on top of things and always had my coffee topped off with a smile. The food was excellent!! You can tell they use quality ingredients and have nailed down their menu. I got the smoked pork belly hash & loaded biscuits and gravy with a side of fresh sourdough bread, and all I can say is WOW!! Ellie’s may have the best breakfast I’ve ever had at a diner, and up in rural MI no less. Wish I lived closer!

Absolutely one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. The BLT with the Cajun pork belly was just delicious. Staff was very friendly to us. Clean bathrooms and a nice cozy dining area. I would totally recommend it to anyone to try.

Sat outside and had the chicken fried steak. It was amazing. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Large pieces of sausage in the gravy. Great music and atmosphere. For sure going to make this a yearly stop.

Have been here several times and have always had great food and great service, until recently. Arrived and waited for just a few minutes(not a problem) and was told to go sit at the table by the window and the lady left to do something else. There were 2 tables by a window in the direction she pointed. One had 1 chair and one had 2 chairs (there were 2 of us) but had not been bussed yet. We naturally sat at the table with 2 chairs. When the waitress came back she very rudely said “I told you by the window”. When it was pointed out that there was only 1 chair at the other table and 2 of us again very rudely she said ” I know that and I am going to move a chair over there”. We told her not to bother.

Had the best breakfast sandwich of my life here! The black forest kielbasa breakfast sandwich… Man oh man was that good!!! Beautiful atmosphere, loved the outdoor seating area, great service, and everything was absolutely delicious!
