Outstanding place to eat. The decor takes you back to the 50s! The food and service were excellent. I had the Greek shrimp wrap with chips. Enjoyed it. The restaurant was clean, and the service was friendly and helpful. Great dining experience. Will definitely be back when I am in the area.

Loved the big salad for lunch. Topped it with a crab cake. My date did blackened salmon on his salad. Fresh greens and nice tomatoes with more crunchy veggies. Excellent service, too.

It is worth the wait! The food is always delicious, but last night or fried could have been a more golden brown. Although they were cooked, they were still white, and I hate that. Blueberry cream cheesecake made my breakfast belly happy will be back soon!!!!!!! Best fried fish ever!!

Came here with some friends for lunch in January and I was shocked that it was so packed until I realized it was a holiday. Fortunately, they went thru customers fast and we didn’t wait long. The place had a great old time diner feel and the waiters was awesome. So the experience was great. I had the Crab Cake sandwich that I loved. Importantly, the potato salad was almost as good! Overall, this is a place that I will return to again and again in the future as it hits all the requirements.

Could not get anyone to serve us at the counter. Owner / manager, whoever was in charge, ignored us on multiple occasions. She was also very rude to use upon check out. We finally flagged down a server to take our order. The couple sitting next to us couldn’t get anyone to wait on them, so they left after about 20 minutes. Large menu, good variety. Typical diner food that tasted just fine. The pie was really good, though an incredibly small portion for the price. This was our first time dining here and we didn’t leave with a great impression. Unfortunately, there aren’t many other options in the area.

Super friendly and wonderful comfort food. Nice decor, the restaurant does have a nice 50s decor and appears to be in a former Rexall drug store. Definitely worth a visit. I don’t normally do dessert but the ice cream that everyone kept ordering looked incredible and it was. We will be back next time we are in Mathews.

The food was very good, the server friendly and helpful and the restaurant was as clean as any I’ve seen. We were also very pleased with the prices. Not inexpensive, but you definitely get your money’s worth. The Chesapeake Burger was very good and very large and my wife’s Grilled Chicken Melt was cooked just well and very good. Beware! We ordered the Cheese Fries as an appetizer and the serving was so large it could have been our dinner! They were so good we brought most of them home for our son. There is no excuse to leave this restaurant hungry, so enjoy!

Love this atmosphere. The food was good and well-priced, the sides were not typical, and the desserts were worth their weight in gold. The waitresses were great and the food came out quickly. We are from out of town and this place was recommended. Glad we followed that advice!

I read all reviews. The 3 months ago and 6 months ago reviews just like what happened to me. I guess owner just doesn’t care that he has an old rude woman working there and giving resturant a bad name. I lost my keys in bathroom. Went right back in with in seconds and they were gone. No one offered to help me. I was sure someone had gone in after me. They left the second seat up and pee in toilet. I went back to my car to check and back in restaurant 3 times. Finally the old rude woman said in front of the other employees ” I didn’t take ur keys!” I said I never accused her. I finally had to walk over to register and look around and sure enough down in a corner that anyone would have missed were my keys!!!!
