Excellent 1 Michelin star restaurant in the Bay Area. Classic dishes, but bold and interesting new flavours. Really hit the spot.

Hands down my new favorite restaurant in Palo Alto. Friendly and attentive service, great food, great wine selection. I’ll come back every time I am in town.

It’s a really lovely restaurant. The service is wonderful and the ambience is clean, elegant and upscale. It’s high-end without being pretentious, and the menu is mostly comprised of elevated comfort foods. I loved the Aloha Palmer mocktail and the Bavarian Pretzel. The Brick Chicken was good, not outstanding but well executed. The ricotta dumplings were good too, but a very familiar cheesy flavor you can experience for a lower price point. My husband enjoyed the A5 Wagyu (small portions but filling). You can get away with ordering 1-3 snacks/apps and entree per person, with room for dessert. We had leftovers with the amount of courses we got. Overall I’d go back for a friends birthday but I wouldn’t choose it for my own birthday if that makes sense? The tasting menu option might give you the “mind blowing” dining effect

I had a wonderful night with my friend celebrating at Protégé! It was five courses creative menu. My favorite is the black truffle noodle and the king crabs! The banana ice cream dessert is also cool ! Caviar is tasty and short ribs are juicy ! This is my fourth time here at Protégé! I celebrated my birthday here last year. Great memories!

Best in south the bay!!! A place that you must visit. As for the a la carte menu, try their pretzels and brick chicken. Those are the best I have ever had. The tasting menu is wonderful as well! The price is surprisingly affordable compared to other similar restaurants. Wine list is comprehensive. Staffs are friendly and professional.

A fantastic fine dinning restaurant in South Bay. They offer both a la carte and tasting menu options (in either case you have to book in advance). We were there for a la carte dinner and had a wonderful meal. We went with one “snack”, one appetizer, one entree and one desert each and experienced the great variety that the Chef and his team can offer. Service was top notch and the atmosphere was modern and chic but not extravagant.

One of my favourite restaurants I’ve tried in the bay area so far. For snacks, the pretzel is a must try. The octopus appetizer was incredible as well with just the right amount of crispiness. The chicken was the star of the show – it was so juicy while the skin was so crispy. We topped it off with the key lime pie and chocolate tarte.

Got last minute reservations for the a la carte menu and everything was great! The food was great. We got there early and got sat early. The service was great and fast. Looking forward to coming back.

We had an amazing à la carte dining experience. Our server made excellent recommendations and we started with the crab and caviar, which is a must try. We then had the pretzel epi, which was beautiful and tasty – the honey butter and mustard candied mustard seed were perfectly paired. The squid was expertly cooked – not at all chewy with the right amount of char. For our entrees, we took the server’s brick chicken recommendation and also ordered a pork chop. The brick chicken was as flavorful as described and the cook on the pork chop was spot on. We tried four different cocktails and all were balanced yet elevated. For dessert we had the carrot cake and chocolate pecan tart. The tart was good and rich but the carrot cake was an experience – sweet carrot sorbet, tart mandarin slices, and bright tangy sauce somehow turned a usually heavy cake into a light and vibrant, playful dish. Protégé ranks among the best meals I’ve had, probably tied with Plumed Horse in terms of flavor and service.

Always on point. Sublime service, creative food and amazing cocktails. Expansive wine list for this size of the restaurant with some really good values. Best pork chop you’ll ever have, hands down (see picture).
