The food was really good. The brisket seemed like it was cooked in a crocpot witch id perfer it to be smoked on a grill or smoker. The staff was very busy almost too busy but they were very polite. We sat in the back where it was kind of dark and you could see the kitchen witch I wish I couldn’t have. I know this may seem like a bad review but my mother and my aunt enjoyed the brisket baked potato and enjoyed themselves. I had the brisket nachos witch was good, not great. Could use some tweaking of the recipe perhaps. I hope to come across this small town again that has that charm to experience something new at the Carriage On The Square.

Surprised there are a few bad reviews. Talked with Hans and others and they were friendly and helpful. Some of the best brisket we’ve had in a long time ! Some eateries claim to know how to smoke brisket properly but fail. Not here…they nailed it !!

Unique options for their BBQ. Loaded potatoes, Mac and cheese, nachos, etc. It was nice to see and try something out of the realm of normal BBQ. They had all the original stuff, but it was too intriguing to try the fun options. I had a bricket Mac and cheese. Personally I didn’t care for it, but I loved the concept. For me, the sauces were just overwhelming. I’m sure if I would have ordered without then it would have probably been a 5* in my book. Either way, I do recommend anyone passing through to give this place a try.

Stopped in here from out of town. The bbq was definitely solid, but I couldn’t believe how good the ice cream was. Maybe the best I’ve ever had. Super creamy, lots of flavor options, and large servings.

That smell! As soon as you open the door that smokey smell hits you…I knew I was in for some good food & I wasn’t wrong. The Runaway Carriage is so filling! I’ve never had a potato so big. It was loaded with pulled pork, cheese, baked beans & sauce. The smoked potato was cooked through to perfection, & the pork was so tasty. Hubs had ribs & slaw…oh, my, fall off the bone goodness! The dry rub mixed with something that I swear makes them a little like candied ribs. Order at the counter, find a seat (inside or out) & they bring the food to you. Service was excellent. I certainly felt appreciated for being there. Very recommended!

From out of town and heard we should try this place. Hands down the BEST ribs I’ve ever had. And I am super picky about ribs. My sister is a chef and makes amazing ribs and I think I even like these better than hers! ( don’t tell her!). They were also very accommodating to me, my husband, my daughter, and super picky eater of a son. If I ever come back to Greensburg, Indiana I will definitely stop here to eat. ❤ Thanks for the delicious meal and excellent service, you guys.
