Presented by Chai Pani Restaurant Group, Botiwalla is Chef Meherwan Irani’s homage to the lively Irani Cafes of India – tea and kabab houses run by Parsis who immigrated to India in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. With a strange and wonderful mash-up of Victorian decor and Indian sensibilities, Irani Cafes catered to the English colonialists’ love of high tea and afternoon snacks.
The other inspiration behind the menu of Botiwalla is the late-night street food scene of India. His mission with Botiwalla is to bring the streets of India to life — the glowing charcoal sigris, the sizzling meats, the aromas of chaat masala, and the crispy, crunchy, multi-textured street snacks — in the most delicious way possible.

I absolutely adore the food at this restaurant. It was my first time here,The wraps, especially the malai chicken and fish, are truly outstanding and left me thoroughly impressed. The flavors and textures are on point, making them a standout dish. While the lamb sliders could have been more flavorful, they still had their merits and were enjoyable. I highly recommend trying their amazing wraps, as they are a definite highlight of the menu.

I had an amazing dining experience at Botiwala! The SPDP we ordered was simply delightful, bursting with flavors that left us impressed. While the corn bhel was decent, it didn’t quite match the level of excellence we found in other dishes. However, I must insist that trying their chai is an absolute must! Highly recommended for Indian food enthusiasts!

Forgot the names of the food we ate. I had a lamb kebab on naan with diced up veggies and sauce it was delicious. I also got a salad with cilantro red onion rice crispy lookin things and lil pieces of fried dough or something. It was really good. My wife had a chicken kebab on top of a fresh salad. A couple of the pieces of chicken was very tough. This is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. She told the staff and they accommodated her immediately so it’s ok. It was just some ligaments pieces. Overall we were satisfied and will definitely come back. I apologize idk the names of the food I was just so excited to try Indian food for the first time and ordered whatever sounded good lol☺️

Came here on a whim and right after hiking Crowders Mountain in Gastonia. We weren’t expecting to purchase a full meal. However, we ended up doing so because the food smelled so good from the kitchen.

Love this place great the staff is always helpful. It gave me chance to try Indian street food I have only seen in on tv, like the pav bhaji. Also one of stressful parts of Optimist Hall is the seating, this place has ample seating inside and outside seating with heaters. Obviously vegetarian friendly

Incredible food, people, and vibe!!! Absolutely loved this place!!! It was my sisters birthday and they 100% took care of us by offered us free dessert and sample appetizers!! The service was incredible, asking to refill our drinks and the food came out super fast! Will 100% be coming back. We got the chicken and lamb wraps and totally suggest both. The dessert was also amazing!! If you’re thinking about eating here do it!

I don’t typically leave reviews, but as a fellow restaurant worker I want to shout out my great experience at Botiwalla. A friend and I came in tonight for the first time – the food and ambience (unlike many stalls at Optimist Hall, this spot has its own internal dine-in seating/restaurant) were both fantastic. And if you’re new to Indian food like I am, this is a great place to dip your toes in! However, what impressed us most was the great service.

Its a nice Indian food joint. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Been here many times and they never disappoint. Although this time I tried veg grill roll, their Chicken Tikka Roll and Chicken Malai Kabab role are must try. From drinks menu, Flying Horse beer tastes real good.
