Not good food. Bad service-messed up order. No refill on a 3 dollar tea. Terrible seafood gumbo-it had 5 micro shrimp I counted and some rue and pile of rice. Worst gumbo I’ve had. No evidence of seafood other than the five micro shrimp I counted. Fried shrimp and fries were ok. Never again.

What a cute restaurant nestled in the heart of Wimberley! The blackened shrimp tacos were to die for! Loved the crawfish, rice, beans and hush puppies!! I’m usually not a lover of hush puppies but these were delicious. Friendly staff. Manager Lexy is super sweet!! Will be back!

The Crab Stuffed Shrimp was delicious, I ordered the 6 count but couldn’t finish them, they’re very filling. My side was fried okra crispy and tasty. My meal came with two hush puppies that tasted like fried sweet corn bread with seasoning, I could’ve eaten more those, yummy. Definitely worth a try when you visit.

I really really wanted to love Fish Tales. This particular spot has been several restaurants over the years. I thought seafood yay but then seafood in Wimberly TX ???? Well most of the items are fried. I had the 5 piece fried catfish and it came with french fries. I wish the side option had more options . This place is not cheap and better sides would definitely be appreciated. The fish itself was lightly breaded and flaky. No noticeable seasoning though. The gumbo I really had high hopes for but alas very very runny base and bland in flavor. Currently serving only beer and wine. Probably won’t be back . Fried items in a plastic basket not really our jam.

Food was great. Had fried green tomatoes, flat iron steak, and the blackened redfish. Steak was cooked perfectly. Probably the best redfish I’ve ever had and do not pass on the special butter it comes with. Their fresh cut fries are great. Their hushpuppies are perfect. I did not like the coleslaw as it was spicy and I don’t believe it should be. The dirty rice could use some improvement too as it was a bit bland for dirty rice. If coming on a Friday or weekend evening, be patient as it can get slammed.

Real laid back place to enjoy some great seafood. I would have taken a picture of the Cajun gumbo but that didn’t last long enough on my table! The catfish was amazing, most and delicious. The shrimp was awesome as well. These guys don’t bread their seafood down and you can enjoy the fish and flavors without eating half loaf of bread. My draft beer was over cold and my Jameson was served in a chilled glass. Nice touch! Will return with the wife to enjoy this place!

We ordered by phone and picked up. We only live 5 minutes away. When we tried the food it was so so salty that we couldn’t even eat it. As I tried to eat my food I could feel my blood pressure rising. From the salt. The only thing the wasn’t salty was the side salad and the French fries. They didn’t have any flavor at all. The biggest problem was that when we called to let them know how bad the food was they just offered us a coupon for. But one get one. We asked for the manager and they said they couldn’t find her. Lame excuses! I will not be eating there again ever.

We had the fried fish and shrimp basket. The waiter suggested we might want to split one because is there is so much delicious food in the order. The atmosphere is fun and Lexi and the other employees were awesome. After we paid our bill we hung around in the bar area and talked to the employees for almost an hour!. The outside eating area is very cool, sitting under beautiful oak trees. The employees were decorating for Christmas as very traditional Christmas music played over the speakers. Fun place to go for very good fish, gumbo and shrimp.
