Thought we would try this and so glad we did. They food is delicious and the service is excellent. Price are very fair. Very clean with convenient location. A huge variety of food & beverages to choose from including beer. I personally do not drink but my husband likes a beer or cocktail at times. Do not miss trying That Latin Twist cafe just off BBD. . I know we will return for sure. Highly recommend.

From the moment we walked in, I felt ignored. Not knowing we were supposed to just seat ourselves, as no sign indicated to do so, we walked up to the hot bar where orders are placed. We must’ve stood there for more than five minutes without even being acknowledged, and no one else was in line except for us. The food did get delivered quickly and tasted good, but no one ever came back to the table after delivering the food to ask if we needed anything else or if we were enjoying our food. When it was time to pay, we literally sat there an additional 15 to 20 minutes after finishing our meal waiting for someone to come back and present the bill. No one came so I walked to the counter where two ladies were standing behind the register. I literally stood there at the register with them looking at me multiple times, and not asking if something was needed. Eventually, I said excuse me… And she walked over to me and stood there without mentioning a word. I asked for a to-go box and the bill. She handed me a to go box and the other young lady rang up the bill on the register. While I’m standing there at the register with my credit card visibly in my hand, she walked completely around me and took the bill over to the table and set it down. The customer service here is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced in the restaurant industry. The food is good, but the customer service is enough to make me choose to eat somewhere else.

As a Cuban who has lived in the Tampa area my entire life, I simply cannot believe the reviews here are serious. I am not exaggerating in the slightest when I say this is by far the worst Latin restaurant I’ve been to in the last 20 years. The pork had zero flavor which is mind boggling. The garbanzo bean soup was salted to the point of no return, and incredibly watery. Service was horrendous, and it was so hot inside the restaurant we were literally dripping sweat. The yuca was bland and mushy, the plantains were cold and almost mush. I don’t understand what the “twist” is in the name of this place. This place lacks substance and a reason to return.

The tamale was the worst I’ve ever experienced. I took one bite and spit it out. The so called meat that’s in it was extremely hard similar to bacon bits and was extremely mushy reminding me of soft canned animal food. The lack beans lacked flavor and came straight out of the can, pork was decent but lacked flavor too. White rice was overcooked and slightly mushy.

I placed a catering order last week for birthday party. Latin Twist knocked it out of the park. The food was above expectations and my guests were very satisfied with everything- most of those present had the credentials to judge- having many nochebuenas under (or over) our belts. I will order my next party from Latin Twist. Best Cuban sandwich platter I have ever had. Ropa Vieja and Puerco were both awesome. I can’t say enough good things about my experience.
