Bar Pigalle, a vibrant restaurant and bar with French influences opens in downtown Detroit this June. Helmed by award-winning mixologist Travis Fourmont and Certified Sommelier Joseph Allerton, the concept is set to open at 2915 John R Street in the heart of Brush Park, tucked inside The Carlton Lofts. The historic building, built by legendary American architect Louis Kamper, was also the backdrop for one of the hottest jazz scenes in the 1920s and 1930s. The building’s rich history coupled with Brush Park once being known as Little Paris is the perfect location for a fresh, new dining option like Bar Pigalle. Bar Pigalle will serve French inspired cuisine and a mélange of playful cocktails with a fantastic wine list.

A delightful experience to say the least. The atmosphere is small but modern and luxurious. The service was pretty good! Sam was personable and relatable. Evan was very helpful with the menu descriptions. My guest had a couple glasses of white wine and I had them improvise something for me. Both drinks were good. I ordered the 8 oz flat iron steak that was served with mashed potatoes and spinach and my guest ordered the Pigalle burger single. We split a side of hand-cut fries. Only great things to say about all of the food, especially my steak was very tender and well prepared with accessories. We were too full to order dessert but perhaps next time! Definitely intend to return.

I went here with a group of three and really enjoyed myself. I tried both bourbon based drinks on the menu. Both were well balanced and decently strong. We ordered a bunch plates, as this is a place where you share plates. We had everything from a salad to ravioli to lamb chops to potatoes to duck confit to papa’s frites. M…. I think the duck was the winner although everything was good! I also had the key lime pie for dessert, it was good as well which tells me that this place does it all well. In addition, the staffs service was great. Overall this is a great place to have a meal!

My husband really wanted to try this place for his birthday. I made a reservation, I was super excited to come and try it out as well. Well, it did not disappoint at all. Everything went even better than expected. We were greeted by a friendly hosted (didn’t get her name but she was wearing really cute heart earrings). We were seated immediately. The velvet seats were super comfy. We were greeted someone else who brought us water right away. Greg was our server, he was fantastic. He walked us through the whole menu and made recommendations. My husband ordered the Beouf Tartare. I ordered the diver scallops and we shared the Lyonnaise Potatoes. The food was absolutely delicious. 10/10 for sure. We also ordered a couple drinks. My husband ordered the sprintz and I had the Painkiller and Goldfinch. They were both delicious, the goldfinch was stronger than the painkiller. I can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.

The stellar reviews left my expectations high and I must say, it delivers! Great location and atmosphere. Really thoughtful cocktail list and menu. The food was excellent. Everything was equally delicious as it was beautiful. Our server, Greg, was knowledgeable, helpful, and a true professional. One of the best servers I’ve had. If you are interested in trying a French restaurant in Detroit, I’d recommend Bar Pigalle. They also have their own parking lot which is a rare treat downtown!

Absolutely amazing dining experience all around. We started off the meal with a recommended bottle of wine from our very knowledgeable, personable, and attentive server, Greg, that was absolutely wonderful! Then chose to take on the chef’s tasting and was absolutely floored by all of the exquisite food. It was five courses and with two guests we got two plates to share for each course and one for dessert. The food was presented beautifully and tasted even better! My personal favorite were the baked scallops and butternut squash filled tortellini in a creamy parmesan sauce. We were absolutely stuffed by the end but still saved room to each try a cocktail and they were wonderfully balanced and flavor packed as well! The experience as a whole was one of the top best dining experiences I have ever had and I will definitely be returning as often as I can.

Great atmosphere and experience for an upscale restaurant. Even the burger is top-notch. A very nice server took a lot of time to explain all the different meals. Even went over the whole story of how the place came about really was a nice guy and did everything possible to accommodate us so I must say it was a good meal.
