Great little restaurant with kind staff and yummy food! My friend and I popped in on a weekday afternoon and everything on the lunch buffet looked fresh, despite the place being almost empty. I had the salad bar which was fresh and loaded with topping choices. French and ranch dressings were both delicious.

I’m not happy with this and therefore do not recommend it. The food was a little below average. There is a buffet with just 12 items. The mashed potatoes tasted as if they were instant. I have to assume that is why there were only a small handful of people there. Half the tables were cordoned off so as not to be used. This was supposed to be the oldest brick building west of the Mississippi, I had very high expectations; big let down. Also, there was no music, and the few people there were wispering. Very odd.

My wife and I shared a Monte Cristo sandwich. It was excellent. The building is said to be the oldest brick structure West of the Mississippi River. Originally the Territorial Court and, if I am not mistaken, the building served as a Masonic Lodge, for a short time. Ste Genevieve is a beautiful town, well worth the trip.

This is the best place to eat in town. Great atmosphere, amazing food. The waitress shared the history of the building which was super interesting. Blackberry cobbler was worth the trip. Don’t miss it!

Been going here over the years since the 1970’s. The food is always delicious. Not a fancy place, just great food at a reasonable price served by lovely people. I’d give it 6 stars if I could!

A great place to eat when in Ste Genevieve. The building is historic. There is a casual section and a more formal section. The menu has quite a few choices plus they have a buffet. The prices are reasonable as well.

This is the oldest restaurant in Missouria, having opened in 1785. It was first a courthouse and a school. This town was part of the Louisiana Purchase of 1804 and St. Genevieve holds an annual medieval celebration on New Years’ Eve by singers who go house to house and to the Old Brick House. This place is so famous it is written about in my book “Oldest Restaurants in the USA and Europe.” Dr. Diane Holloway Cheney.

The buffet looked amazing but, we just got a couple burgers and they were above expectation. The black berry cobbler and cheese cake were both life changing. What a treat!
