This place has great food. I’ve tried the super burrito and the meat enchiladas, both fantastic. Due to being such a small restaurant, the dining room quickly fills up every time I go. Good thing there’s plenty of seating elsewhere in the plaza.

I ordered chicken enchiladas. The sauce was red but it was not enchilada sauce it was some kind of curry overloaded with cumin. This was the weirdest flavor profile I’ve ever experienced at a Mexican restaurant. The beans and rice were reheated and it was obvious. The special taco was ok at best. We ordered a crispy taco when I asked if the taco shell was fried and it was straight up a store bought shell. The meat was not great the food was not fresh. We had high hopes based on reviews and photos and left completely disappointed and my stomachs hurts. We only ate the food because I honestly felt bad that there was not one good thing on the table. It just doesn’t sit right with me that they are blatantly serving reheated food and there’s no sense of pride in the food they served. The only thing we enjoyed was the modelo especial bottle. Sorry to the owner, you should know your place needs help.

A big pleasant surprise. The prawns/shrimp adobo is simply delicious. Taqueria Limon in downtown Walnut Creek has nothing like that. Only issue is that the tortillas at Mariachi are cold and have hard edges. Otherwise this place is good.
