We decided to go with my family to try the giant potatoes. We chose with brisket, which was very good, although in our opinion it lacked something that would take it to another level. A very pleasant atmosphere with excellent staff. I think I would return and try something else on the menu.

Not sure how I haven’t tried Woodies BBQ in McPherson until now, but I’ve been missing out. I ordered the two meat dinner, which comes with two sides and bread. I chose to get beef brisket + pulled pork for my meats and baked beans + fries for my sides. The bread was a thick slice of buttered Texas Toast. The meats were smoky and delicious, neither too greasy nor overcooked. They had a pickle bar and four BBQ sauce choices–sweet, hot, hickory, and gold (presumably a mustard-based sauce). I used the hot, which was good, and the hickory, which I thought was even better (I should have tried the sweet, but didn’t this time around). The beans were good and had pieces of pulled pork in them. The fries were excellent, with a flaky potato wedge type of texture, and an amazing seasoning (salt, pepper, and smoke is how I’d describe it). The portions were generous and the price was fair! Great pick for a meal if you’re in McPherson!

Stopped in McPherson on the way to Colorado and the person at the front desk of my hotel recommended Woodies out of all the places nearby. I was undecided on what to get so I went with the rib plate. Let me tell you…their ribs are perfection. They’re tender with a little bit of snap, well seasoned, slow smoked, and no sauce needed. They do BBQ right!

Stopped by for a late lunch. Not very busy at 1:30. This place does smoked meats very well. The ribs were most, tender, and fall off the bone delicious. The chicken comes sliced, nice flavor but very dry, you will need sauce. They have a great selection of sauce! Service was great. Workers were very friendly. Plenty of parking. Clean dining area. They were prepping for a catering, the Brisket looked great, and was easily sliced and chopped so nicely tender.

We had a great late lunch between baseball games at Wall Field. The smoked turkey and beef brisket were very good. The sides were spot on. The sauce bar and condiments were fresh and delicious. The help was helpful, pleasant and they all had a smile. The place, and the fountain machine, everything was clean and cared for. Excellent.

Probably one of the best smoked turkey sandwiches I’ve had. The meat is always juicy and flavorful . It’s also very convenient to have a drive thru. Makes it nice to get for lunch break. The family size meals and also pretty nice when you don’t want to cook after work

AMAZING!!! This place exceeded my expectations. I must say I was not sure this place would have really good bbq. But I was amazed. The rib were delish! Falling off the bone and full of smoked flavor! The brisket was great too. Great tender smoked flavor. Baked beans amazing! My daughter had the hot links! GGRREAT! Fries were perfect! I can’t say enough about this place! Great customer by the hardworking staff! Kudos to all of you! A definite must stop in McPherson, KS!

This is my place for hood old smoked ribs! The open face sandwiches are amazing and those sides are always hot and fresh! Love this place give it 10 stars! Great BBQ. I had the Brisket and Pulled pork, 2 meat combo with spicy and BBQ beans (half and half) and potato salad. All of the food was really good. The Texas toast was great. Store was clean and staff was friendly.
