My rating was many because it was 84° in the restaurant. The chips seemed to be store-bought multi-grain. Salsa was good, the server was fairly attentive, although I think they were just short staffed, very common these days. We were looking for a good Mexican restaurant while visiting in St. Louis, thought maybe this would be a hidden gem we found based on reviews. Not particularly. Just a good little local storefront Mexican restaurant. Best wishes for them to continue. Food was average.

Nice local Mexican eatery. Chips (thin & crispy) and fresh salsa were delicious! My street tacos included beef/chorizo, barbacoa, & shrimp with a choice of corn or flour tortilla. I chose corn. All were delicious except for the beef which was chewy & inedible. The beans that came with the street tacos were outstanding! My friend ordered a combo platter with an American style taco (see picture). All in all, we had a good meal and the staff was very hospitable..nice outdoor seating as well.

We got dinner here last Saturday night before a show next door at the Focal Point. It is an authentic Mexican joint, down to the chefs, servers and bartenders. The menu is extensive and you can have your choice of delicious Mexican treats. The salsa and chips are among the best I have had at a Mexican restaurant in St. Louis. The service was good and the food was excellent. I had the Seafood Ranchero and my wife had the Shrimp Taco Salad. Highly recommend!

I used to love this place but unfortunately I will no longer go here. The service has been getting worse and worse. This last visit, we ordered queso and had to ask for it three times before finally a different server got it for us. We only got two out of three plates, and they they didn’t even realize it. We had to ask where the other plate was, and it wasn’t even made. We had to ask for a box twice. The final kicker is that they lost my credit card. I had to go and ask why payment was taking so long, and my server said, “Did you give it to me?” and then had to go find where they put it down in the kitchen. The food is so good but I dont want it to take two hours at a restaurant that only had 5 active tables.

Tried Casa Maya for the first time while on a search for tacos. We were so pleasantly surprised. Got a warm welcome from server, and the place feels cozy and cheerful. The tacos didn’t disappoint. They were fresh and tasty. I also ordered an enchilada to try one for taste. It was delicious! A dark red sauce full of flavor covered the enchilada, and the meat filling was seasoned very well.

We used to live in San Antonio and this is the closest thing to the Mexican food we got down there. Our favorite Mexican restaurant in St. Louis! Super friendly staff and they always get your order right. Portion sizes are great too

We waited 1 hour and 25 minutes for less than mediocre food. We asked for queso twice and it never came but it was on the bill twice. When the bill came we asked the server to remove the 2 quesos from the bill and he asked if we just wanted to take them home in a to go cup. We said no and asked again for them to be removed from the bill. 9 minutes later he returned with the corrected bill and threw it down on the table to the point that it startled everyone. I ordered an iced tea and it came with an unwrapped straw already in it, luke warm with no apparent ice. I would normally ask for a new one but had to pick my battles since his visits to table were painfully infrequent and there were other issues with the food on our order. After all of that, this morning 3 of the 5 people who were at the table are not feeling well. I really hate leaving negative reviews and even more so complaining about food but felt compelled in this case as a public service.
