This is my First time eating here but most definitely will NOT be the last. I didn’t plan on treating myself today, but I’m sooo glad I did. Today is Cinco De mayo, but honestly today I’m celebrating me, and I definitely came to the right place. Great food and even greater service. Today is such a beautiful day, so enjoyed my meal outdoors in their new outdoor eating area. I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here.

We just picked the first Mexican restaurant that was close by on a trip back home from Boone. I was surprised that the food quality, quantity, and service to be so excellent. Our server did a great job of checking in with us, and while talking to Monte on at the register I could tell that he really cared about our experience. I would definitely go here often if only it was in the town I live.

It’s literally the old monte from across the street, but with higher prices less meat. Ordered the Torta, the bread was just a subway white bread, the old one was wider and was cut halfway making it easier to eat. Bread wasn’t toasted so it didn’t hold the food well, it didn’t have as much meat as the old version used to have, but it did have more avocados. My dad ordered the steak and shrimp he said it was like how it used to be, but again said the meat was lacking. My mom had the street tacos with the rice and beans, she didn’t say much about it normally means it’s ok.

Wife and I visiting from out of town. We’re shopping nearby and needed to eat. Stopped in after seeing good reviews. Were immediately greeted and seated. Patricio (Patrick) was our waiter. He was fast. Like super fast. We had chips and salsa and drinks before my seat was warm. We spotted the parrillada on the menu and decided wife and I could share. I got a large XX and wife a margarita. Both were cold and delicious. Chips were fresh. Salsa too mild for my taste. Parrillada came out with rice, beans and tortillas, wife ask for some corn tortillas as well. Was tasty and good for two even as hungry as we were. Well we decide to go full monte and get dessert which the fried cheese cake with extra side of ice cream and strawberry drizzle. Delicious. Check came, very reasonable. Manager/owner checked us out at register very friendly. Great place, tasty food (my wife likes flavor, obviously she chose me for the last 36 years) and she approved. Highly recommend!

Watch the prices. Get billed more than is on the menu and they charged me for using a debit card without telling me ahead of time. Food was good, but not cheap for what it was and chips served seemed old. Restaurant isn’t as good as old version of it that was across the street.
