Texlahoma BBQ Menu – Edmond, OK

Type : Barbecue restaurant

Location : Edmond, OK

Playing with fire since 2015!

Founded by native Texans in 2015 (Brian is from Houston and Jennifer is from Amarillo) who transferred to Louisiana and then Oklahoma while working in the oil and gas industry, TexLaHoma BBQ was born. The couple started catering BBQ out of their home to make ends meet during an ebb in the energy field, eventually buying an existing barbecue joint from a widow after her husband passed, renovating it and building a new smokehouse. Seeing a gap in the market for Texas- style barbecue, the couple added the spice of Louisiana and opened with one smoker serving only sandwiches. Since then, Texlahoma has been through six smokers and has added a car hauler converted into a food truck trailer, and now a second location

My coworker recommended this restaurant. The ribs were very tender, baked beans were okay, and the okra was so fresh and crunchy. I got the mild sauce but it wasn’t very tasty to me. The customer service was good and I didn’t have to wait too long in the drive-thru. I will give it another try over the next month to tryout the $10 sandwich and side special.6/8/23 I went back to tryout the $10 sandwich and side special. I can’t believe any employee/cook would give someone a burnt bun like the pictures I’ve included. The okra was fantastic and hot. I’ll never go back again.

Really not too impressed with the quality of meat, sides, or their sauce. I got the 2 meat dinner with Chopped Brisket and Pulled Pork with Green Beans and Beans. The green beans were good, but the Beans were very watery and very sweet. The Chopped Brisket was bland and soggy, kind of a mushy texture, while the Pulled Pork was very dry and bland as well. I’m not sure about their sauces, but I didn’t care for the hot or mild. I would have preferred some basic Head Country or Sweet Baby Ray’s. The Queso N ‘Cue Potato was pretty good with the brisket. Would have liked to see a sampler option to try all the other meats listed.

Staff very attentive. This was my first visit and I was unsure as to choices. Staffhad excellent suggestions and I’m glad I went along with suggestions. Ribs excellent, but what really reflects positively on restaurant was that the “sides” were just as good. Most other places focus on the main and sides can be mediocre. Texlahoma pays attention to their sides just as much as the main. Will be a repeat customer. Highly recommend coming here.

First time trying as we are from out of state. The pulled pork nachos were fantastic. The meat melts in your mouth and is so full of flavor. The fried okra was perfect. The ribs have a beautiful rub with a smoky sweet flavor. Would highly recommend.

Best ribs and brisket in the area. Sauces are great too, vinegar based, not heavy. Okra and potato salad uniquely done.

Seriously some of the best BBQ…it’s not just the meat but the sides as well. The beans are amazing; the coleslaw; the baked potatoes are gigantic; I could go on and on! Stop in and you won’t be disappointed.

I walked in and the employees were gathered behind the counter having a personal inappropriate workplace conversation. It was my 1st time there. I was not acknowledged, greeted, or made to feel welcome. I was going leave when somone (female) finally acknowledged me. I was the only customer in the entire store or drive thru. I ask if I was in the right place to order since they didn’t want to offer to service me. She spoke in a very unprofessional, unpleasant tone asking me what I wanted. I explained it was my 1st time and had a few questions about the menu. She was vague and blunt. It was obvious I wasnt welcome. A Caucasian lady then came in and was immediately serviced and allowed behind the counter. I tried to get a drink from the fountain and it was just water. I went back to the counter and again was ignored until I loudly said excuse me, to even get someones attention. I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome and will not go back. My food was cold greasy and the bun was so hard it was crunchy. It was honestly

Stopped by the new Edmond location on 2nd St and had a really good lunch. Tried the potato salad, green beans, and turkey. The turkey is REALLY good and flavorful. . . didn’t even need sauce. The crust has a pepper seasoning. The one meat meal with a drink and tax was $18.45.

Ordered through the drive thru and maybe i caught them at an off time. The pulled pork sandwich had no flavor and the bread was a little over toasted for my taste. The potato salad, if you could call it that, had the texture of between grits and watery mashed potatoes. I have definitely had better BBQ in oklahoma.

Seriously the best bbq in Edmond and it’s not even close. The fried okra is the best I’ve ever had. Ever. Brisket was juicy and flavorful and the sauce didn’t over power the meat but added just the right kick. Can’t wait to come back and tackle the Havana.
