While visiting the highlands it was difficult finding a place to dine that did not have a long wait. Stumbled across this gem. Very pleased. Tasty food, give it a try.

Great lunch spot. Smash burgers are great, beer is cold. Prices reasonable. We stop often for lunch.

We just dined here and found it to be absolutely charming. When you are tired of the higher priced and harder to get into restaurants along the main drag, this place is absolutely perfect. Great food, beer selection, and super friendly service. We can’t wait to return!

There is no service AT ALL. Do not even bother to go. We waited for more than 10 minutes standing for a table and they did not even bother to look at us. Then, someone noticed we were there and finally said we could sit at the bar, while there were tables empty, but uncleaned. We decided to give them an opportunity and sat in one of the uncleaned tables, they gave us menus and then we waited for another 15 minutes to be taken care of. They lack experience in customer service and also, their menu is very poor.

Thank you Ryan. Burger and Mac and chx were good. Mac was nice and cheesy and good flavor. However…the cauliflower tacos were excellent. Service was good and quick. Looking forward to trying the new location too. I’ll be back

The food was delicious and you could tell it was homemade. Staff was also very friendly. The next time I’m going through town, I would definitely eat there again

The restaurant gets its name from the elevation of Highlands above sea level. It’s a small establishment a couple blocks off Main Street in Highlands, and a pretty good walk from the downtown area. Wife and I were visiting Highlands for the day and picked this restaurant due to a number of good reviews. Our experience did not live up to our expectations. First impressions were the place was empty mid-afternoon. We were presented with an abbreviated menu of perhaps ten entrees – the menu said “Brunch”. We started with drinks. Wife had Pinot Noir and I had a pour of Blantons, which I had read about in a previous review. The Pinot was about to “turn”, likely due to having been opened from days earlier. The Blanton pour was light, and mixed with crushed ice so that it was quite watered down and could easily have been Jim Beam and water. Was quite disappointing and I later learned they charged $25 for the pour and $3 for the ice. Based on a recent trip to Hilton Head Island, this represented about a $10 “premium price” for a pour of Blantons. For our meal, the wife ordered Eggs Benedict and I had Chicken Tenders with a side of their “Biscuit” – offered as an “extra” at $5. The Eggs Benedict was a disappointment. Eggs were undercooked and the hollandaise sauce was bland, without any lemon flavor, and unpleasant. The Chicken Tenders were better and the hand cut fries were hot and tasty. The Biscuit was cold and dense. Descent size, but hardly worthy of the $5 it cost and we left most of it on the plate. Including the drinks, our ticket was nearly $80. Overall, one of the most disappointing meals we’ve ever had. If you’re visiting Highlands, there are dozens of other restaurants and bistros in the area that would represent a far better value. I recommend passing on 4811 Kitchen and Bar.
