It’s good for grand opening. I’m not promoting this restaurant just fyi. I think everyone should give it a try. Their grilled pork broken rice meets 80% of my anticipation. A few adjustments would gradually help them gain reputation. The sauce & the grilled pork are both too sweet. Lessen that would improve. Their pork ear salad is a bit too spicy & they put too much onion in (yes pork ear is edible)

Had a great dinner here with the family. The prices are a great value and portions werebjust right for us. The staff is friendly too. I recommend the garlic and butter chicken wings, grilled pork with broken rice, Vietnamese braised catfish, and hot and sour catfish soup.

This place has become my favorite spot for broken rice with grilled pork (Cơm Tấm sườn nướng). Personally, i think they deliver the closet taste to Vietnam authentic broken rice dish. I’ve tried broken rice at different places around Bellaire and even the very famous Com Tam restaurant in California,which everyone tells you a must try in OC, I prefer Huong Viet the most since their grilled pork is very moist and the broken rice is in good consistency,not too dry not too mushy. Their staff is friendly and helpful. They never get my to-go wrong.

Houng Viet is the best authentic Vietnamese cuisine that only the well known locals or the “I was just Googling Vietnamese food”. I have been coming here now for three months and hate that I didnt give this review then. Great food, great service, moderatly priced and atmosphere is always pleasant. Vivian and Lin my waitress are always pleasant and greet you with respect. The families that come are consistently well served and come back again and again. I love this place. They need a website to further serve their cuatomers. Dont pass this little “duck-off” place up. You will be glad that you dined in or get the food to go. “I was so impressed with my meal that I get it all the time. The Steamed Broken Rice and Beef Short Ribs and Green Veggies. I finished my whole plates and were so impressed with the quality of the food and the short amount of time it took to receive it. Our waitress was sweet and helpful. I will definitely be back.
