Roadside bbq, best in the area. This gentleman has been here for a long time and his bbq is my favorite in East Texas. He gets just the right proportion of lean meat with a small bit of outside fat and a perfect sauce. I stop every time he is open and I am in the area.

We wanted BBQ and read the amazing reviews, one even posted earlier today! Yes, it’s really a shack on the side of the road but we are SO happy we stopped there. We got the “Plate Lunch” to go (times four). The gentleman inside was very friendly and got us our food nice and quickly. We took it home and it fed four adults plus there are still a LOT of leftovers. It included three types of meat (brisket, fall-off-the-bone ribs and sausage), beans, potato salad, corn bread, and had pickles and onions on the side. We all agreed that all three meats were amazing and we enjoyed all the side dishes too. I needed to write a great review for this place because that’s how we found out about it. 🙂

The best I can say is it was edible. Everything was drowned in sauce. Could not even tate the meat. The owner is very nice and as it was within an hour of closing he gave us a great deal. But personally I will not make a special drive to get it again.

Always good. Plus Al is always so friendly. Building may not look like much but the BBQ is worth the stop. And my family also says he has the best burgers in the world

I must have gotten them on a bad day. Generous portion of brisket but brisket had been held too long and then smothered in sauce. Ribs were held too long, too. Might have been good once.

This guy is a great cook leaves a little bit too much fat on some of his sandwiches but the food is good taste good and the price isn’t too bad we always get tea and cokes
